Val293, I’m from Mass. too! haha and I’m really hoping this comes tomorrow…I am soooo tired of waiting!

haha! good! Another Mass person! I hope so too!

Hello my other Missouri friends! I’m about 30 minutes from Jefferson city!

haha i made an account to talk to you guys too! after reading almost all of the posts, i have no idea how i even qualified for semifinalist status. i have a 32 act, a few hundred hours of community service, am president of a service&leadership organization, class vp, and i have extensive extracurricular and leadership activity involvement. but i dont feel like i match up to the rest of you!! if by some miracle i became i finalist, i’d love to meet all of you in april
maybe we can exchange facebook info if you have one?

good luck to everyone! i feel like some of you just HAVE to win this, with those credentials. and do you think all of the semifinalists even applied for the finalist status? i have a feeling with the type of people that reach semifinalist status, many probably applied ED and/or received an abundance of scholarship money to their top choice schools. does anyone agree that some of these other kids might not even need the money anymore?

Hey everyone!

I bet everyone is anxious for the mail, but congratulations to everyone for making it this far.

Anyone from Arizona?

aah to the two socal posts: usc is my dream school. THAT’s what i have riding on this scholarship. i also am in love emory though…another thing riding on this.

Hi to all the newbies! Happy to have you here to wait with us all!

best of luck to everyone

i dont know if i can wait until the 11th! im still freaking out! haha. the wait is intense

I agree with stereostatic… I’m pretty sure they mailed the letters yesterday, so they will arrive to most places tomorrow… Being from Missouri, I hope to get my letter as one of the earlier ones, but I don’t know for sure… Hope, pray, and drink Coke. Oh, and one more for possibly the last full day of anxiety.

I looked at the Coca-Cola site, and saw that the label still said check to see if you are a semifinalist. I said “What the heck” and clicked on the link. A “site loading” icon came up, and I almost passed out. Then, I discovered it was because my Internet is so slow that it needed the extra time to load. Guess what message I received upon it loading? That’s right. MLICC

i seriously get chills every time i see these two videos…

That was the best commercial I have ever seen. I got chills during it too

thanks for sharing that Persianprincess…I hadn’t seen it…amazing! I so hope I get to be a part of this tremendous opportunity and journey…

@persianprincess

Wow.

That’s all I can say.

I am deeply honored and moved to even be a small part of the network of people that can call themselves Semifinalists. When I view the program in that light, I still strive to get “accepted”, but now to be a part of that network of leaders and achievers.

I hope everyone watches the Dreams video and realizes what we have done, and what we can become.

yup, same here. seeing the video made me realize that being a coke scholar is way more than a check…
it’s a network…truly amazing ![]()
there are some more videos on youtube and you can see the NY coke scholars reuniting and renovating a forgotten school or something like that. it was just really nice. :)

so cool…lucky to be a part of such an amazing journey with both a company and with individuals that have given so much…I can see how they want true friendships to ‘mean something’…its’ really all about giving , and experiencing the wonder of what can grow from giving…

I for one feel blessed to be part of this semifinalist group with all of you amazing people…

Good luck to all of us

wait, so is it for sure that we are getting a snail mail tmrw?
…I AM SO NERVOUS and EXCITED.

Mine wont’ be until Friday at least by snail mail…very small town I live in…post office is a depot…our mail takes 2-3 extra days for everything…
Kind of why i was wishing they’d email instead, so we’d all hear at the same time…wouldn’t that have been cool to all find out together by email and get to share our news with our new online friends…

But I can share in all your joy…my letter , one way or the other will eventually arrive!

@ Jaston
what does a prudential finalist mean?
Did they notify you that you are a sure finalist? WOW!
That is so awesome! Congratulations! (:

haha it is so sad that every day I wake up thinking that today is the day…only to be disappointed at a mailbox full of junk mail and an empty inbox! maybe tomorrow…

@persionprincess
Excellent videos.
It inspires me to work to make the world a better place.
We are all here for exceptions community service, leadership, and academic achievements. We have the power to help others. Even if I don’t get selected to be a finalist, I know that if I reach my aspirations, I will have the power to help others in a significant way.
“…making me want to go forward and make the world a better place for future generations, not just my own.” (My essay #3 for the application.)
“I strive to leave a positive and lasting impact upon the world in which I live.” (Essay #4)

See, if our essays revolved around a possible theme like this, we all know in our minds that we have the ability to make a difference. Just know that as being a semi-finalist, you are a part of an even larger group of people who just might care about the world.
