I agree wholeheartedly with you both saytruewords and onestepaway. hope to see you all changing the world one day with me. I’m honored to have made it this far!

I agree with both of you also…when I said more ‘fair’ , i just thought that it could have been handled a little better, so we all weren’t treated differently that’s all…some finding out by phone, some twittered etc…doesn’t mean I think any less of the program…thought they’d like feedback. I think if one massive emailing went out then everyone would now at the same time…just makes the wait more stressful when some know and some don’t. But like i said, it allowed us all to become friends…and that was well worth it! It must have been a horrible choice to have to decide on just 250 when there are so many deserving…

SayTrue…congrats on a full ride somewhere…it was probably meant to be! I had only applied to this one college where music education is the best program in the country. I’ve wanted to go there for 6 years…so this will not deter me…I’ll just keep working after graduation for a few years and then apply again!

congrats again to all

It’s an amazing program…congrats to all who moved on! I know I’m proud of all of you!!

I’m new to the site. Have been waiting for my daughter’s letter…nothing so far…Congrats to all who made it! I’ve counted all names from each state, and I counted 250…

Would have been nice to hold off on posting until everyone received their letter. Did anyone ever receive a rejection or an email as stated?

I agree with earlier posts…a mass email to everyone at the same time would have saved a lot of worrying…but the opportunity was wonderful, so thank you Coca Cola!

jashton, don’t give up so soon. This was only one of many opportunities out there…keep searching…try Lowes, Best Buy, other major companies…deadlines are coming up soon…and never say never. Good luck to you.

Don’t give up on the smaller scholarships.
There are a bunch out there, though I might be able to pay for a semester of books with all the postage that goes into submitting these things. Rejection builds character and helps build deeper convictions and abilities to identify passion, don’t you think?

jashton don’t give up on college yet! you have amazing talent with the guitar, voice, and who knows what else. perhaps you could write your own songs and play them on youtube(that way no copyright violations) and put ads on them for some $$. I know a few youtubers getting a hundred thousand per year just from ads on each view alone.

You could also hold a charity concert on youtube?? (not sure how this would work) maybe do a bunch of covers/ your own songs and explain to viewers your situation about college and ask them to donate. even a dollar will help! -if they give one per video they view.

Anyways congradulations to everyone here! I think trying is better than not trying at all.

well you guys no letter in the mail today and i checked the page and my names not on the list
good luck with everything in the future everyone! we truly are all outstanding for making it this far!

Jashton, I know the top colleges have need-based financial aid, you will not asked to contribute any from your family if you make less than $60,000

OMG
OMG
OMG
OMG

I won!
Good luck to everyone else in anticipation. Letters are on their way!

I just got home and received my letter…I am a finalist!!! Congratulations to all, and to those of you who did not get it, do not lose hope. I definitely did not expect to get this. Such an honor.

I JUST GOT HOME FROM SCHOOL AND THERE WAS A LETTER IN MY MAILBOX! I AM A FINALIST! As soon as I saw congratulations I threw everything in the snow. Now my letter is soaking wet.

I can’t wait to meet everyone in Atlanta!
Good luck to all!

My mail hasn’t ran yet!!! My mail man is so inconstant with his delivery times.

Guys please stop worrying about me…I’m fine…I’m happy to have gotten where i did…Music is not often found to be as worthy as athletics I’ve found this year! Oh well, they don 't know what they’re missing!

COngrats to all the newbies who got the great news today…you guys all will go so far!

Thanks to Coca cola for the wonderful opportunity you gave us all.

take care and best to all

I didn’t get it =( But congratulations to all that did

Didn’t get anything in the mail…just checked the list and my name isn’t on it. I’m so incredibly blown. I don’t know what to do. :(

I just checked the list and my son’s name is on it. His letter arrived today, but he’s at tennis practice, so he doesn’t know about it yet. We live in Phoenix.

bummer! I didn’t get it. But congrats to all you guys who did, from what I can tell, you are all of extremely high caliber! And not just because of high scores or GPA or priggish bragging rights clubs, but because you seem to be genuinely excellent people. Congratulations all!!

I’ve been so impressed by all of you students – I can’t imagine how the selection committee can choose. I truly didn’t think my son would get it, not because I don’t think he’s a great kid, but because there are only 250 slots for 2500 amazing students. My son has strong academic credentials, has done scientific research, revived the Academic Decathlon program at our school, and has done some community service, but his accomplishments are no greater than many of yours. Honestly, I think they must take all the semifinalists’ names and just draw them out of a hat!

I can login now… I hope all of you understand the importance of being a semifinalist… moving on to the next lever or not… YOU ARE AMAZING! Please keep up the good work, and keep this post alive… I will love to see how everyone succeeds after this application process. Let me know what schools you get into… (POST HERE ON APRIL 1st
and what other scholarship will be made available to you… and remember dont be afraid to drop the title on an application (COCA COLA SEMIFINALIST/FINALIST!) Best of Luck!

My 5th scholarship rejection! I think I’m kind of used to it now. But still, my heart races as I open the link that displays results of the utmost importance.
