Coca Cola Scholarship- Who applied-Winners

Once you get to the Coca Cola site, go to “more info” and then “semifinalists”.

Can anyone else confirm that this is the 2004-2005 list? I’ve never heard of a soul on it from my state.

I just spoke to someone at the CC Scholars Foundation and she told me that the list on the website is in fact the “working list” for the 2004-05 scholarship semifinalists.

Yeah. That’s the list…I recognize two people on there from my state.

Unfortunately, I’m not one of them.

Why didn’t they change it from 2003-2004 to 2004-2005? It’s kind of confusing…

who cares that the name isnt changed. the list contains the 04-05 semifinalists.

and i can confirm that the list is 04-05. (to second saintofme)

is that all of them?

yeah this program is screwed up…apparently being 1st in a class of 344, 1500 sat, 35 act, editor of paper, state tennis champion, state president of a journalism organization, 10 clubs with offices in many, lots of community service, tons of statewide adn national awards in math, science, and history competitions is not enough to make it in mississippi!

or they look for different types of candidates than yourself

Alas, my name is not there either, but a friend from middle school and several people from camps that I went to are semifinalists, so that’s cool for them.

To everyone who applied and didn’t make it: do any of you guys have a lot of work experience and yet still didn’t make the cut? For the most part, I think that the weakness in my application was that I’ve never held a job. That might just be me trying to make myself feel better, though.

i did recognize several people in my state too, who i’m excited for…i never thought about the work experience being a big factor; i only had one job, and it was an intern/sportswriting job at our local paper so it might not have been a big enough deal.

ya that list is not complete

you can totally tell since the names are only at the begining of T’s

last person is Teresa , there had to be someone with a first name like tomas or zack so the list cant be all done yet

I didn’t make it, but someone from my school did…

It’s weird because I have a much better GPA than he does and more extracurricular activities with leadership positions. However, i’m not involved at all with student government or class officers, whereas he has leadership positions in all of those type of things. We’re pretty different people, but apparently, the Coca Cola ppl preferred his type. He’s a cool guy though, and I’m glad I lost to him and not a jerk at least. Sigh…I really really needed the money though, whereas he’s already very affluent. Do semifinalists get money?

The search for more scholarship money continues…

Yay! I’m a semifinalist!..I hope those lists are correct. Ugh…this horrible/snobby (with really no REAL credentials to back it up) person from my school also got semi though…how did this happen???

So, wait…are th epeople listed technically called “regional semifinalists”? Is this something we can list on college apps? Does anyone know when finalists are announced? Good luck to you all! :)

heres the process

pool of 130,000 –> 2000 semifinalists –> fill other app Coca Cola sends you –> 250 Regional Finalists –> fly to Atlanta –> 200 Regional Finalists and the other 50 national finalists

from coca cola

btw i am also a semifinalist.

They updated the list

My name is now on it, it was only up to Teresa for Clai as of last night

Congrats to everyone

I have worked all through high school with an average of 15 hrs a week

plus all the other stuff…seems like the leadership/job skills are what count the most

so if the job is what counts the msot my chances should be really good for the next step

good luck to everyone

hopefully ill be able to make for regional finals and see some of you there.

go sign in at the coca cola website

it says 104,000 people applied

i was # 124 something thousand

seven nights ahve you signed on???

when i signed on it stated that 104,000 people applied

what does yours say?

i think that more people apply to this scholarship than any other scholarship. 130,000 applicants? that’s crazy
