@mom2020dance thank you very much!!! Of course her first choice is Juilliard- but she doesn’t audition there until 3/1. She really likes Fordham/Ailey and then Pace is probably her 3rd choice followed by NYU.
How about your D??

@gmfalv My D likes a few and I can’t tell which is her top. She will not audition at Julliard. PACE, NYU, FORDHAM, SUNY Purchase, POINT PARK
Some similarities! My D auditioned for a bunch of schools back at Dancewave and was lucky enough to be accepted.
We still have a few auditions left:
Michigan this weekend
NYU 12/14
Marymount 1/25
and then Juilliard 3/1
and we’'re waiting for prescreen results from Fordham
What auditions has your D done so far?
@gmfalv
yes us the same, we attended dancewaves and accepted to many.
Outside of Dancewave, "Monclair State University and AMDA and just completed NYU & PACE
oh nice! we did the scholarship audition for Montclair last week and then Pace of course.
How did your Pace audition go?
@gmfalv she absolutely loved it. She attended the intensive back in Oct. So we have no idea rally want to expect. It’s such a sort after program. Simply waiting at this point.
She received a scholarship from Montclair at the NYCDA college audition in the summer. Application is completed and simply waiting on the academic decision. Also academically and artistically accepted to PPU. She got into Peabody which I thought was exciting, but seems to again migrate toward NY. I forgot she submitted app to USC but I am nervous about her heading to west coast.
She stated she will pick from those that she already auditioned for an only interested in auditioning to SUNY Purchase beyond what she has done.
@mom2020dance thats great! seems like she has many good prospects!
@gmfalv lets stay connected about NYU & PACE for sure.
@mom2020dance yes definitely!!
@gmfalv how was Montclair? We’re headed there in early December.
@threegirlpileup my D really liked it! She thought the campus itself was really nice and then loved the dance facilities and staff.
There were about 30-35 people in her audition and they held i believe 19 for solos and interviews. They made the cut after the ballet and modern classes were finished.
D was accepted through Dancewave so we’re waiting to find out about the scholarship results from the audition.
My D recognized a few other kids from Dancewave there as well.
Good luck! Where else is your D auditioning?
She is auditioning at VCU this weekend but other than that she just has some other scholarship auditions/visits planned—Temple, Towson, Ohio State, Adelphi.
She was planning on auditioning at Marymount but I think that may fall from the list.
@threegirlpileup good luck to your D!
Waiting to hear back from USC, just did the Discover Open House and DS was not all that impressed surprisingly! If I may, what was wrong with UC Irvine, DS top school - for many reasons outside of dance?
anyone auditioning at Michigan this weekend?
So. Much. Travel. Including the trip this weekend, we will have been gone for auditions/visits 5 of the last 6 weekends. Plus an overnight earlier this week to take a closer look at UNC-G. I’m exhausted and feeling like I am dropping balls in my regular life right and left. Not to mention my 15 yo is getting grumpy about how much her sister and I are gone.
After our short trip to audition on Friday, we have one more trip (a longer/farther one though) before Christmas, and then nothing scheduled yet for new year. We’ll probably coordinate a trip to Adelphi (and possibly Hofstra if it’s still on the list) at an already planned (fun) trip to NYC in late January. And then trips to Ohio State and Towson at some point in the spring. DD has be accepted academically to Marymount but I’m not sure she’s going to do that audition.
It really is a marathon.
@threegirlpileup it really is! We have five more auditions scheduled and one more she needs to schedule, and they all require overnight trips. They are all in January and February- before that it’s all nutcracker and YAGP rehearsals. YAGP is the second weekend in January and then we have five audition weeks in a row. Then there are the visits to where she’s been accepted (but not visited) that I need to schedule for after her March ballet. I’m broke and exhausted and we have so much left to do.
I am so thankful that my dd decided to take a gap year. There is NO WAY we could have done all this while she was in the thick of Nutcracker madness. She is working as a choreographer/teacher on Nutcracker this year and her AD has been really accommodating of her travel schedule.
I feel like we have traveled way too much to still feel like we have so little information to make decisions!!
Just got D’s acceptance letter from Montclair indicating she’s been accepted for Dance and also approved to pursue the Teacher Education Program. She was at the 11/12 audition. Did anyone else get this?
Just got our audition date for Ailey for December 11! Anyone else?
