@gmfalv just got ours as well. It is Dec, 13 for us though.
@Momontoes congrats! is that in NY or a different city?
@gmfalv thanks! Congrats to you as well. It’s in NYC. How about you?
@Momontoes yes ours is in NYC too! I wonder how many NYC audition dates they have…
@Momontoes thank god we don’t have the 13th date because we have NYU audition on the 14th! lol
My D got Dec 10 date
@gmfalv we have NYU on the 14th too! Actually makes it easier back to back. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway ?
@Momontoes haha good for you guys- we’ll see you there! i know how my D works- she needs recovery time in between lol!
@gmfalv So it seems like S is going to have an extremely busy audition weekend starting on Friday - January 31, UCLA - audition in the morning 8 am check-in, they are willing to try and get us out as early as possible. S has Pace audition in LA as well check-in is at 4 pm and runs through till 9 pm. Saturday he is going to have UCI audition in Irvine check-in at 7:30 am. And finish up on Sunday in Chula Vista (San Diego) for Fordham, luckily his check-in time is like 2 pm. So yeah 4 auditions in 3 days, ouch!
We are finishing up a few days in NJ (where we barely made it because of the snowstorm on Monday) for a scholarship audition/visit at Montclair State, and heading out today for Dancer for a Day/Scholarship audition at Temple on Fri/Sat. My dd and I impulsively went into NYC yesterday afternoon and got back really late, so I am TIRED and can’t believe we have another round of visits/auditions before we head home!
Glad this is our last trip until late January.
@threegirlpileup good luck with everything! We did the Montclair scholarship audition last month and got our official acceptance letter last week from them. I was told dance scholarships aren’t given out until the entire audition season is over so we wouldn’t know about them until like feb/march.
We’ll be @ Ailey in the 11th also!
We were at the NYU audition this past weekend and my D absolutely loved it! It has now jumped to the top of her list. She thought the faculty and the whole vibe at the audition was outstanding and is really hoping to get in!
There were about 32 dancers there, and they kept about 10 for solos/interviews - luckily my D was one of them.
For the dancers already accepted through ED- in your experience at the audition, do you know if most of the dancers that make the cut will get accepted?
@gmfalv , I am glad to hear your D’s audition at Tisch went well. As far as I know, at least 5 dancers out of 10 who got through the cut got in at ED1 round. My D found out via Instagram that 3 females ( including her) and a male got accepted , plus @momstress2020 s’ D from CC forums. This means at least 50% of dancers who got through the cut got in. I also want to mention that there was one RD male dancer within the 10 finalists; as ED1, the acceptance rate is more than 50% (I mean, more than half of dancers who performed Solo/interview).
ok wow those are good stats! we’re keeping our fingers crossed she gets in! She felt she performed well and thought her interview with Mr. Martin went well!
thanks for the encouragement and congrats to your D again!
@dancemom2024 Thats awesome to know… I hope the other dancers connect with my D!
Did you select housing options yet?
@gmfalv is NYU her 1st choice?
@momstress2020 , my D started looking into housing, and considering one of Themed Engagement Communities; several residential halls host different themes such as musicals, Arts, Comedies, Food & Culture, Social Justice, and more. Although it requires a couple of paragraphs explaining why you join a certain community, she is used to writing a short essay by now. ![]()
Other than that, I heard Brittany Hall is a popular one.
Below is the link to NYU Themed communities page.

@dancemom2024 my D said No to the community. She stated she wanted to meet all different people. So she just listed her dorm choices in order.
@momstress2020 one of her top choices!
anyone else auditioning for Marymount tomorrow?
