@wildem613 Good idea. Thx!
Does anyone know if honors college responses are sent out at the same time as admission decisions?
@wildem613 I will update here if he hears anything. It never would have occurred to me that they are going to release decisions so early, much less to call and ask. Thank you for being so proactive. Of course, it seems they said they were releasing “some” decisions tonight, so many of us may still have a long wait. Has anyone received an email with instructions to check portal later? My son is at school so I have no idea. Cue the nerves.

I was notified via email about a decision being reached! I use gmail and it went to my “promotions” folder, so check there !
Accepted!
Will do more in depth stats later. Congrats to everyone who has gotten a decision!
@Strugglinghere2 , congratulations!!!
I’d love it if all EA applicants - honors and regular - will post their news (good or bad). There isn’t a “regular” EA thread for CofC 2024.
Honors decisions were not released at the same time; but their website is pretty adamant about them being separate so I’m not surprised!
D’s portal says welcome to Charleston, which she doesn’t think was there before, but there’s no letter or anything. Weird. It must’ve been there and she just didn’t notice.
If we applied early action but didn’t receive a decision, do you think we should be concerned? I submitted my full application kind of last-minute, but well before the deadline. Is there a chance they’re just releasing decisions for applications they received fairly well in advance of the deadline?
@wildem613 Sorry for sounding dense, but from your earlier post it sounded like they were releasing “some” decisions about ALL EA applicants. But your last post suggests that these acceptances/notifications are just for EAHonors? Is it all or just honors? It makes sense that you need to be accepted overall then accepted to honors, but every school does it differently. Thanks to anyone who can help clarify!
Son checked his portal. No changes, no email updates… EA, not honors.

Very excited
@l2kids I’m so sorry for the confusion! I thought the decisions were being released for all EA applicants, regardless of whether or not they ultimately decided to apply for honors as well.
I do know that CofC says that they want honors kids to know earlier if they got into the interview weekend (which they send out by Dec. 31 so people can make plans). Maybe that’s why only some people got to know early?
Call the Admissions office and ask. They looked up my name and told me when I was supposed to get a decision (today for me!), so I would call them tomorrow first thing in the morning (like 9am).
Here’s their number! (843) 953-5670
For anyone looking to see if there’s a decision, it will say very clearly “your decision is ready” under the welcome to charleston banner!
Here’s my stats:

Essays: Not required, but I submitted them anyway. Loved my Honors supplemental! Felt really good about it. (Wrote about scientific illiteracy and cognitive biases as issues in the 21st century).
Letters of Recommendation: Submitted two letters, one from my AP English Language teacher who I got to know really well and who saw me overcome lots of adversity, and the other from my AP Chemistry teacher who I TA for this year and I TAed for him last year as well. Really got to know him and I did super well in his class.
Let me know if you’d like to know anything else!
@Sevn17 Excited to see a fellow biochem major! Congrats!
For all those who are concerned about the Honors letter, I’m going to call again tomorrow (called them Monday and they said that I should see a letter by Jan. 31st, but that seems unreasonable given the fact that the decision has been released a month early) and see what they say!
For regular EA applicants, please let us know if you got a letter! I applied Honors and I got my letter, so I can’t be of much help!

It appears they have released EA Honors decisions for all and EA non-honors for in-state only…but I am just making that assumption based on the responses on this thread. I also started a non-honors EA conversation, so if anyone has any news, we would all love to hear!
