I thought I would make one of these as there was some people mentioning in past they might apply this year! My 27s app was just marked ‘awaiting decision’!
They are out OOS and meet the in-state auto-admit rules, so hoping that means they will get in?

I just visited there a few weeks ago, and loved it! There are so many great opportunities for students there, and the overall vibe was so appealing. Plus downtown Golden, another huge positive. Good luck!
It was one of the first schools my kid visited and they were absolutely charmed by the traditions (M-climb! school song! ore carts!) and cool minors (explosives engineering, space mining!) AND location! I also liked they were opening a huge 2nd year dorm
Plus info session was kind of fun, is my recall though was a long time ago now…fingers crossed! 
The student panel was brutally honest - which I appreciated. That’s where we learned:
The food was much better today (on the special visit day than normal) so we like these student visit days.
If you took an AP in a core class, take it again (I know some on here disagree but it’s what they said)
My son appreciated - that we went to Snowmass for four days of skiing afterward.
I think he liked the school and I liked a lot - but when it got down to it, distance to mom mattered too.
hahahah that is really good to know! We didn’t get a student panel at our tour/trip.
My kid would definitely re-vist before actually attending though, for sure:)
It is interesting, it has a rep for being quite hard, but our tour guide really said it was very manageable, and was a local-ish public school kid 
. I am curious if culture is to “complain how hard it is” or it REALLY is that hard? And/or the profs got “yelled at” to not be such hard at grading in recent years? hard to know!
My kid would also very much appreciate access to skiing!
