COLUMBIA TRANSFER: Fall 2020

I think that @RejectionMan is right, I think that you will get a decision as long as you submitted a complete application. I believe they would be more clear if it was a rolling process.

CC (Columbia College) apps, what are your stats?

@Ethan332
I had committed to a top 50 university but there were extenuating circumstances, so I attended a CC instead. Hoping for the best.
College (CC) GPA: 4.0
HS Weighted: 4.0
Standardized Testing: High 30s ACT
Essays: 8/10, good, creative, everything is relative tho, so I’m not entirely sure how they will be perceived
Extracurriculars: Very strong in HS, College (nationally ranked in an academic event, research, nonprofit founder)-not sure how this stacks up to everyone else

@Ethan332
Small liberal arts college (Top 50 US News).
HS Weighted: 3.2
College: 3.9

Did most people apply to Columbia in HS. I never did and I’m wondering if that may hurt my chances

I have pretty low stats compared to everyone else, but it’s worth a shot

EEK! Hopefully we get in! Are you transferring out of a CC?

@ZoomUniversity23

college gpa: 4.0
ACT: 33
Essays: pretty good
college ec: internship with state governor, student gov, model un, op-ed writer in college newspaper, lifeguard (part time), plus three other clubs

@teenybee I would not be reapplying next year as I feel the pool will be much harder and I am pleased with my choices thus far in the transfer process. Is there a reason that you would be reapplying, just out of curiosity?

has anyone’s account worked out on this site?

I don’t think so… I think someone said earlier back that it didn’t work for anyone last year either.

@Ethan322
High School Weighted GPA: 4.2ish
College GPA: 3.8 (midterm grades were 2 A’s, 2 A-'s, all 4 credit classes)
SAT: 1470
Essays: no idea… I think they are decent but who knows!
Recs: 10/10 (department chair for my major and former Columbia professor; I know both very well)
ECs (maybe my only hope lol; btw I’m a Poli Sci major): Division 1 Golf and some accolades from that, founded a national political organization for college students (president), co-founded a club of the same nature at my school (secretary), represented a presidential campaign at my school, community organizing in NYC (mostly with Columbia students), student government E-board, another student gov committee, art supplement (supplement related to politics/history; I do commissioned portraits), research assistantship for a Constitutional Law treatise, tutoring students in China for the IELTS.

I’m a bit pessimistic about my chances but hey ya never know

why did i simply not get an email about when they’re posting decisions lol? portal gives the message

ahhh never mind–just me being silly. looked over my application and it’s quite…bad. however, wishing everyone the best in these times!!

What time did you get your decision notification emails?

Mine was at 11:02 EST.

(I know this is silly but we have nothing else to do)

same here ^^

I got the email yesterday at 10am central time

edit: 10:02 am to be specific
