Actually, several of my grades have dropped to F then back up again to current grades… Last week I had an F in Spanish because I was at competitions and I missed 2 tests, after I made them up, apparently I have a D

Now, what do you guys think the source of my terrible grades is? I don’t know about you, I am a nerd. I mean when I am bored, I open up a text book and read it. And textbooks as in higher level stuff. From C++ Reference books to College physics books. I have always been that type of kid. I remember when I was around 4 or 5, I used to read my mom’s book on baby birth (It was for when she had me and my lil bro was coming soon) I mean it was way over a 4 year old’s level. Well that was back in Korea. You already know the story of me and C++. Even as an elementary student (2nd-5th grade) I would be reading Encyclopedias like britannica encyclopedia and world book encyclopedia. I don’t know what happened. It frustrates me. I am not even joking about the encyclopedia part. All i would ever read was non fiction books that were often ahead of what I am “supposed” to be learning. I always been known as the student with great potential. I remember, every comment from every teacher I had in my academic career in America: “David has great potential, he is very smart, he just needs a push to do his work. He is not working on the level of his ability” I don’t think I ever got that push… As I moved on to Middle school and highschool, the bad habits still stuck with me. I guess my bad grades just absolutely demoralized me. I turned into a rebel; I would never do my homework in middle school. Then highschool came, I tried to break my old habits and that really did not work out as well. I never had the time to read much. Or the money to even afford college text books. The local library rarely had anything that interest me, I had no access to college libraries. May be it was my pursuit of knowledge that ultimately hindered me. I would not pay attention in class, everything seemed so trivial. Then it was too late when I tried bringing up my grades. I am in a very similar situation. In physics, I only have a quiz left to bring up my grade, that won’t do anything. In APUSH, I have some assignments that might bring me up to a B, but getting the 2 Fs in a row just killed me. Math Analysis, I don’t know. As I look back, everything was so trivial, makes no sense why I have that grade. English, I might just be the smartest kid in there, I just stopped caring; I never read a single assigned book since middle school, never had the time or will to. Robotics: I am getting an A for sure, I am the “golden kid”, I am almost 75% done with a project I started a 2 days ago, it is due in 2 weeks. Spanish: I don’t know, foreign language was never the thing for me.
