Mine CSS also hasn’t been received too. I’m not too worried. If it doesn’t get cleared up by thanksgiving, then i’d be worried cuz i heard most decisions aren’t made until after thanksgiving.

whats css?

It says I haven’t turned in my finaid app, w-2 forms, or CSS but I did all of those things. I just emailed them (with the email they sent at the beginning of this month that confirmed they had received those forms) again with all my stuff so hopefully this will get cleared up. Everything else has been turned in and I’m excited for decision day.

@ilovefhf CSS Profile is a finaid questionnaire you have to fill out with your financial aid application. It is done on the college board website and costs like $25. It is all electronic so you don’t have to worry about mailing anything or emailing anything as the college board sends them out, assuming you filled it out on the CB website and paid to send it to Cornell. You should have it done if you are an American applying for aid (don’t know about int’ls).

malan, when you track your status, what is given for you? Mine says that they received anything without telling me what they have. What does you’res look like?

That’s it.

I have the same exact thing, obviously different name/college-major.

Should we be worried that they do not have our specific materials listed? They stated that there should be a checklist… unless I’m blind.

@Versii

I think you’re worrying too much. I’m assuming the “Materials received” portion with no further comment means they got everything okay.

Yea, I have the same message =] I do think it means everything’s in alright

For FA, though, Collegeboard says they sent all of the profiles for Cornell on the 2nd, which is when Cornell requested that they be sent to them, allegedly o_O So idk, maybe it’s a diabolical plot of the collegeboard… they’re slowly trying to ruin our lives and control our minds; I wouldn’t put it past them.

damn collegeboard. First its the invention of SAT, now this…

So, I called the office of financial aid today… turns out, it’s not the collegboards fault lol
Cornell has the database of CSS profiles that were sent to them for both ED and RD applications, however, they’re choosing not to download them until the end of November.

My guess is, it’s not really relevant at the moment since they’re still going through applications and sending out notices about missing information… and the CSS profile will only matter for those who are accepted, therefore, if they wait till the end of November, they can download all of the relevant ones at once and have the remaining time to work on FA packages before they send out acceptance letters o_O

@ wisdom86. thats correct. Cornell does “need-blind” admissions.

ILR ED-ers…not that I actually want to know BLAH (prob will make me more nervous) but…i’d love it if you guys posted your GPA/SAT’s/SAT2’s/extracurrics/etc

I’m a little confused about the CSS as well. I was under the impression that the FAFSA was the form that needed to be completed for financial aid.

FAFSA determines how much money you get from the government in the form of Pell grants and what not, or even if you get aid, however, the CSS profile helps colleges determine your EFC and ask for more of a financial history / future projection o_O

Has anybody here been contacted by the Admissions office regarding missing items? Or has everybody received the same exact message as them having all of our materials.

Yep, I’ve got the same message:

Yeah I got the same message too.

are you supposed to get that msg via email?

No, you see the message when you log on with your ApplicantID. That was sent to you in an email after you applied.

same message for me
