Cornell 2014 ED-ers!

^ I’ve tried to accept that I’ll get rejected also T_T At this rate, I’m just hoping to be differed =</p>

I’ll get deferred at best for sure, so I’m fine with it. Moving on to supplements this weekend and beyond… sigh

Anyone prefer being rejected to being deferred?
'Cause I do. I don’t think I’d be able to stand the agony of waiting another three months…
Anyone know what percent of people who got deferred get accepted? And what percent of people who applied ED get deferred?

idk, I think I’d rather be differed… If i were rejected, I’d adopt the mentality, “Well, if I wasn’t good enough for them… then why should anyone else want me?” However, if I were differed… I’d think, well now I can soundly apply to other schools that I’d like to go to… even if I don’t get into Cornell in 3 months, I’ve applied to 8 other schools… one of them is bound to accept me.

I think the ED acceptance rate is around 37% more or less, I’m not really sure how many differed people get accepted o_O

Does anyone know if only the contract colleges give GT’s?

Does the ED acceptance rate include deferrals who were later accepted?

Yeah, the private colleges don’t give GT, unfortunately. I wouldn’t mind going to a state for a year, then transferring.

I’m not sure… I don’t think so, however, I could be wrong.

=X 11 days

That sucks about the GT’s T_T

I’d likewise not mind a state school for a year… but oh well. I wonder what the transfer acceptance rate is o_O

My sister got guaranteed transfer to Arts and Sciences. That said, it was three years ago, so maybe policies have changed.

i’m applying ED to Human Ecology, from New York, so you can add me to the list.

waiit just to clarify because i am confused about the day, what day are the ED results being released? dec 10, 12, or 15? I’m in desperate need of the right day to count down to/ obsess over!

^ yeah, does anybody know the exact date?

My friend went last weekend (11/20-11/22) to Cornell and she said that the admissions officers there told her that they were releasing results December 10!! Hope they were right.

runner43, thanks for the confirmation. We have had rumors about Dec 10 being the date with semi-confirmation/theories, but you confirmed the date for us.

I added myself and swimrunstudy to the list

I am actually so nervous about the 10th it’s ridiculous…Mostly because I really don’t feel like starting apps for schools I definitely don’t want to go to as much as Cornell.

California, Arts and Sciences.

Right now, I’m finishing up my UC Berkeley app… hoping that in the near future, I’ll have to withdraw it. How sad is that?

Hah, I already submitted my apps to two SUNYs (they do rolling) and I was hoping to get an acceptance from them if I get rejected from Cornell (to ease the pain). Well, not really hoping, they’re safeties, so :P

Are you guys going to withdraw all applications if you are accepted or keep them and see how you did?
10 Days 20 Hours 54 Minutes…

Wullster, add me to CHE, my stats are in the middle of that whole discussion about the Korean guy’s ECs.

@ mburns, aren’t you required to withdraw your applications from other schools if you’re accepted ED…?
