@Gatortristan I didn’t use priority sending, I used normal. Do you think it will reach the school in time for me to be considered in the early decision pool?
Does anyone know when the absolute latest I can apply early? Is it November 1st at midnight EST or the 31st at midnight EST? I’ve procrastinating lol…
I think Sunday night at 11:59 PM is the latest.
When and how do you get your Netid after applying?
@geocach someone clarify for me too pls lol
@holi47 You should be fine. They said they take october tests
@PotatoSalad They email you your net id. I got mine the day after I sent in my application
Just to clarify again lol: How did you guys put you ec’s down on the common app? In full sentences or fragments
@Gatortristan i used fragments starting with an action verb (developed program in… or worked with…)
Do you have to send in all your SAT tests and ACT tests that you’ve taken before? What if I only want to send in ACT and SAT II tests do I need to send in my SAT Is?
@Jubilantlearner No, you don’t. Sending the ACT and SAT IIs is fine.
either all act or all sat. if the college you apply to requires sat 2’s then you have to send them all. you send one you send all
I hope you guys are pumped, Ima current freshman and I absolutely love this school
so if I’m sending sat 2’s then that includes sat 1s?
no
November 1 @ 11:59 PM is the latest you can apply. I recommend you try to get them in tonight or tomorrow morning. I tutored a Stanford applicant last year who couldn’t submit his app because they said it was late.
I feel kinda sick about this. I have a bad GPA (3.6 UW, 4.1 W… which is .3 lower than the two people that got in two years ago), but comparable SAT scores. I have a really rigorous curriculum (14 APs, 4 IBs, 4 college level courses. All honors when possible) at a high ranked school, so I’m not sure how much I actually have a chance.
I think I have decent ECs though (3rd place DECA ICDC, SIFMA stock market game finalist, manage a student run business that makes $$$), and alright recs and essay.
Do I have a chance or am I like … hopeless?
I was about to submit my app yesterday when I realised that my CALS supplement was more about Agricultural Sciences rather than Food Science (my intended major), so I rewrote it! But now I’m unsure about which version to send because the older one, though more agriculture oriented, is very well-written, and the newer one is definitely more food science oriented, but not as well-written.
I know CALS cares very much about how you ‘fit’ to their college, but do you have to fit the major exactly? By sending the old one I risk sounding like I don’t actually know what food science is (I talk about sustainable ag. and economics which all pertain to Agricultural Sciences), but the new one isn’t as well-written, like I said.
Yesterday I checked the college board website and it said my oct SAT was sent to Cornell. I just checked again and the status is backed to pending. Did this happen to anyone? What should I do?
@NICE8x Damn right man, couldn’t have said it better myself!! The SAT isn’t a good representation of math skill, it’s only a representation of how well you can avoid stupid errors in a 25 minute or less time limit. Real people who use real math aren’t expected to recognize errors for that many problems in such a short time limit!!! I agree with how the SAT measures reading and writing skills, but if I had it my way, there would be no math section at all. Schools should look at what math classes you’ve taken and how well you’re doing in them when judging someone mathematically!! Maybe, one day…but yeah whatever happens happens.
