Hey. I still haven’t received my financial aid decision yet. Is anyone else here in the same situation?
@chicharito14 same thing here, im very worried. Love the username…
Haha thanks @michaelog
Im really worried coz I heard they will be closed from the 25 of December til the 3rd of Jan that means if we dont get them today, we will have to wait another week and potentially miss the regular decision deadline (in case we dont get enough financial aid)
exactly my issue, i think its not right
Exactly my issue, i don’t think its right. Did this happen last year? .I guess we just have to hope for the best
When I login to my Cornell web account and check my financial aid to do list, it says “inquiry access denied” is anyone getting the same message?
Same here…
same thing
I still keep getting notifications from this thread, even though I unbookmarked it after getting rejected
@chicharito14 I asked my counselor about this once. He said that you can apply for regular as normal but in case you get enough aid you retract all your other applications immediately. Since ED are only binding if full need is met, you can apply to regular admissions but not to ED II of any university. But you should talk to your own counselor too, just to be sure.
@chicharito14 @michaelog Hey guys, I am sure that you will get all the FA you need. I had the same “inquiry access denied” message before I got my FA results ($48000/year). What you guys need to do is keep contacting the FA office and keep appeal that you want to get FA results fast. I am pretty sure that the FA office is working very hard on deciding the amount of aid you will get. Don’t freak out!
How would they look at this - 2320 SAT but 710 and 610 on Math2 and Chem subject tests?
@roaringtiger Do you think they will respond during the holidays??
What happens if I got in ED and apply somewhere RD? I know I am going to Cornell, but I would like to see if I would get into another school just out of curiosity. Can they revoke my decision? How would they know?
Most admissions still respond to emails so you guys really need to contact FA office
@dprice386 - some schools do share their ED list, and your GC is also notified of your admission. Because your GC signed the ED agreement with Cornell, he/she should not send your transcript or LORs to any RD schools. Cornell would revoke your admission if you do not withdraw your RD applications before the deadline. Please read your ED agreement with Cornell.
Why would you care where else you could get in?
It is unfortunate Cornell admitted a student like you when it should have gone to other more deserving students.
Wouldn’t be too hard to find out a student from FL who was admitted to CALS under ED.
haha im from Princeton, NJ!
CUonthehill is pretty dead
@hayley636 Ugh ok so I was stalking the ED thread, and i am EXTREMELY shocked you did not get into PAM Ed
ugh I am so pathetic; stalking the cornell forum, but I reallly hope you get in regular decision or at least a guaranteed transfer. Like, I am really confused why you didn’t get in and it really scares me (especially since I’m applying as a transfer and like you just seem much more qualified than I do :/)
@HereToTransferr awww thank you for the support! I don’t know if my results post made it clear but my 4.0 GPA is a weighted which means that it’s more like a 3.6 UW at my school (I have a few C’s on my transcript too) which I think is the main reason I was deferred. I would definitely take a guaranteed transfer if Cornell offered it, hoping for the best in RD! Good luck with your transfer app- hope that we’ll both be at Cornell soon!
@oldfort or maybe because i had a bet with a friend on whether or not I would get into a certain school…? you can chill and not try to degrade someone when you clearly do not know the situation. thanks.
