@grundeis I contacted them when I had outstanding documents and I am glad I did because they told me that I needed to send certain things I assumed they still had. Tomorrow is the 15th and if you submitted your application on the 1st, they should have all of your documents. I would probably email though. They got back to me within a day with instructions.
Any NON-GT’s have ‘ordered’ on the FA ‘to do list’?
Tomorrow, the 15th is the last day to send in documents right? Is that 15th at midnight if using online submission?
@PBMAX1 That’s a good question. Does anyone know based off previous threads if “ordered” vs “initiated” for the transfer transcript actually indicate anything?
@summit3 in answer to a previous query of yours, pin trick did not seem to accurately foretell acceptance/rejection in last year’s thread.
My list showed documents that were both initiated and ordered and they were documents I had to submit. I didn’t see any change form one to the other though, because they disappeared after I submitted them.
@JellyPeeps no documents have ever appeared on my portal, only the word ‘initiated’ (by the way, I submitted all my documents long ago). What does your portal say now, exactly?
Hey guys, I know that if your financial aid checklist goes from “initiated” to “ordered”, THEN DISAPPEARS, then you are most likely accepted (this is for ANY transfer applicants), but i wouldn’t take this as a main indication of being rejected or accepted because i know from previous threads, people with the initiated status were still accepted, it doesn’t necessarily imply something direct so take it with a grain a salt but be on the lookout if u want
This is only for the transfer transcript item (since this is something that the office takes care of) so if u see ordered on anything else, its just being downloaded. im no expert but this is the information ive gathered from last years transfer thread. good luck guys
@racecarava Interesting! Thanks for the fyi!
@jellypeeps i love the area too. it reminds me of seattle but a lot less touristy. campus is really big, but also feels personal and small at the same time. everyone is really nice as well. i will definitely not be upset at having to “settle” for UMN.
umich’s campus looks BEAUTIFUL.
@racecarava @PBMAX1 @JellyPeeps Where is this stuff about ordered/non ordered something? Is this in the financial aid portal or on the regular applicant checklist?
@racecarava If mine says “Initiated” at the moment and I am non-GT, does that mean I am rejected pretty likely? I still have a missing high school transcript in my applicant checklist…
@grundeis -absolutely not.
In my portal under supplemental materials, it says, “waitlist correspondence”. I never uploaded a material called this. I hope this doesn’t mean I’m going to get waitlisted
@grundeis this can all be found on your financial aid to do list. dont worry, that does not mean that you are rejected it is not an indication of rejection at all. you are fine
I don’t want to be waitlisted… again…
@IndirectProofs nah that doesnt mean youre waitlisted, i think all applicants have that tab
I think what happened was that I had a teacher submit a supplemental letter of rec and that they accidentally labeled the document as waitlist correspondence.
Too bad CC doesn’t allow pictures. At this point, I feel compelled to post the “let me in” Andre meme. XD
By the way, how does Cornell view non-traditional, independent students? Do you guys think it’s a detriment? Their Common Data set lists that only 1% of its undergraduates are age 25 (or older). For Brown, for example, it’s even worse–0%. I wonder if its because not many of these students apply or because Cornell is actively against non-trad students. I immigrated to the US all by myself when I was a teenager, and I have been taking care of my single mom financially (her medical bills, etc.) for some years. I am worried that I don’t stand a chance solely because I am not 19 anymore.
