Do we think it will come out today? It is a Thursday and apparently they only come out on Thursdays…
2pm every Thursday…
EST time zone right? Because if so, theres nothing in my inbox
Anyone had any email about waitlist?
No word. Has anyone heard from ILR? This seems awfully late, but every school seems to be running late this year
It could be tomorrow. Someone called the Admissions Office today and they said that they admit bi-weekly, and the last cornell wave was 2 weeks ago which means that this week should have a wave. And since someone in this chat called Cornell and they said that they only admit on Thursday (Cornell University Waitlist Class of 2029 - #55 by Trolleroof) then that means that it could be tomorrow.
This is what the person who called said:
"She’s not sure which colleges at Cornell have admitted students off the waitlist, but there has been some movement of waitlist activity. She doesn’t think there will be any notifications going out this week but she said to stand by and watch your portal and email. They will absolutely make more acceptances, and they will send them out in waves. They usually have waves biweekly. Domestic applicants are need-blind for admission off of the waitlist, and international applicants are need-aware. The director said the best thing a waitlisted applicant can do for themselves is update their application files (ex: summer plans, internships, reiterating something, etc). If your portal looks a little different when u log in that means your decision is coming out soon
What do you mean by portal looking a little different?
When a decision is made and about to be released, things like a checklist on your admissions page in the portal will disappear.
Really? I haven’t had a checklist in a long time. For context I was deferred and now waitlisted from ILR. However, I did click on the “ask us questions” button and it said I no longer have access to it
same - deferred, waitlisted and I don’t think I had a checklist after I was deferred. Also, can’t access the ask us questions link
Do you think everyone on the waitlisted was deferred? I ask cause your the second person I’ve heard say that and I know ILR is tiny
Based on the CC poll there is a RD ILR waitlist
Did anyone just get an email about the waitlist activity for CAS?
None I’ve heard of.
Did you hear of any?
yes just got one at 4 pm est today about confirming continued interest. Does that mean admission?
Congrats! Should be good news.
Do you mind me asking your state? Major?
New Jersey and Math/Music
Curious if anyone said yes to the transfer after 1 year option?
If you have already been offered a Transfer Option or do get one at the end of the month, take it. Say yes. It is not binding. Saying yes now just keeps you connected with Cornell through your freshman year. You will get an advisor who will walk you through the transfer option steps. You may decide not to do the transfer option application later in the winter. You may be happy at your college and decide that you don’t want to transfer. That’s fine. But don’t shut off that option now.
Our daughter was on the waitlist a year ago. She was offered a TO at the end of June. She decided to take it and applied in February. She had to maintain a certain gpa and take a couple of required courses. The “application” consisted of sending her transcripts and a notice from her college saying she was in good standing. No fee. No letters of recommendation. No test scores. No essays (although I think CALS requires a short essay.) She was admitted to Cornell in April and will start this fall as a sophomore.
Did they offer the TO on the last day of the waitlist (June 30th) or was it earlier? Also I’m a little confused, is the TO guaranteed or is it possible you meet all of the requirements and they still reject you?
