got an email yesterday 1:30 to confirm interest for CAS??? kinda shocked since I sent my loci on May 9, the day before––this means I’m likely getting off the waitlist Monday right??

Don’t let it discourage you. While OP’s post is sad and I wish them the best, take it with a grain of salt. Everyone will have their fair share of successes and failures at any given institution. Do what you can to make the best of your situation.

I also know three freshman who have told me multiple times it’s the best choice they’ve made, and their only twinge of regret is the price tag. College is an experience for everyone but it’s specifically an experience for you or your kid, and it’s them who experiences it, not this hazy “everyone”.

erm what the sigma? Yeah everyone is gonna have a different experience at Cornell. It also just comes down to how hard your major is too.

after being taken off the waitlist, what do you do about housing? i assume they’ve already assigned housing to all originally admitted applicants, so are they placing people that have been taken off the waitlist in whatever is still available? or do you still get to select your preferences? i also know that you can get a free tshirt from cornell if you’ve been admitted but does this also go for students taken off the waitlist?

the housing application is still open so already admitted students don’t have their housing assignments yet, and you can still select preferences if you get off the waitlist.
