Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

Both of those screenshots are from the Cornell financial aid portal. We have the same exact ones. We submitted everything to CSS back in November and completed the FAFSA in January (followed up with stupid corrections for signatures that everyone seemed to get).

This is for all CALS waitlist applicants. I spoke to the admissions office today, and they said that there has been no waitlist movement so far this week. I recall someone mentioning there being movement either Monday or Thursday previously, so look out for anything tomorrow. However, the AO told me that they don’t know if there will be more waves yet since they still need to see who accepts previous offers off the waitlist, basically the same thing that I was told last time. Don’t lose hope tho cuz there can still be more offers, but at this point, I suggest that we all look out for potential TO offers and make the most of those since they are essentially a free pass into Cornell for your second year, (provided that you are willing to complete the requirements and maintain a good GPA (At least a 3.0).

Does anyone know the process for how CALS actually selects applicants off the waitlist? Is it essentially a first-come, first-served basis? Or do they take the time to re-evaluate applicants and look at how their major fits their academic background, interests, and activities?

I can’t tell if this gives me more or less hope :sob:

Basically, they don’t know “yet” if there will be more waves, there could be more. They are prolly gonna continue going taking ppl of the waitlist into the beginning of June tbh cuz that’s how it usually goes. Im lowkey just banking on that sweet sweet TO offer since that means I can still go to Cornell in my second year.

Do you think I could still transfer to Cornell from a UK university?

What are the chances of getting TO for the waitlist in CALS?

Can’t say. All we know is not everyone who’s waitlisted gets one, though there have been quite a few people in the past who have received TO’s. Only time will tell.

a majority of people in CALS will receive a TO I believe, HOWEVER, this does not mean “everyone”. I think it also depends on your major. I know i’m bringing this up again, but for the biometry and statistics major in particular, it seems like a lot of waitlisted applicants tend to receive a waitlist. However, does anyone know if AP credits can be used to fulfill the requirements of a TO applicant.

hmm. I’m not really sure about that actually. You should call the CALS admissions office about that.

does anyone know anything about the general yield rate this year?

Really banking on a TO bro. If we get one I will genuinely write a whole thank you email to Cornell and send chocolates with :smiling_face_with_tear:

Do we need really good grades at the end of senior year to be accepted when applying with the transfer option?

I don’t know bro. Anything that deviates from your consistent academic performance over three years of HS is bound to be questioned, though a single B or something like that won’t realistically do anything to hurt your chances

Afaik hs grades don’t matter with a TO

Ok, because I definitely think I will get more Bs than As this semester.
