Hello! I am waitlisted COE and was accepted to northeastern. We applied for a loan but I have to accept it today or reapply and take a credit score hit. At this point should I just take it? Doesn’t look like I’m getting off this ridiculous waitlist. Live laugh Cornell.
What’s your intended major at both schools?
Chemical engineering at Cornell, chemical engineering with biochemistry at northeastern. Looking to go into pharmaceuticals.
It seems that the two programs are more or less comparable. If you prefer to wait for Cornell’s final decision, only one more “hard pull” on one of your parents’ credit scores is not a big deal, in my opinion. Still, you always need to consider your specific situation.
I know it is rather late in the game to ask this, but is the Cornell waitlist admissions process need blind?
Yes.
Everyone I know who’s gotten off it in person is full pay other than me, and even for me they gave way less aid than the NPC said we would get

Do colleges really do a hard pull on parents’ credit scores before accept the students?
No. This is in reference to an outside loan one poster was asking about. College admissions and financial aid are separate.
