CWRU Waitlist FAQs

My portal was changed and my checklists were all gone. But there is no update yet.

They have released all the results. You can check your email

I didn’t get anything, not even an email

@tranhlok Did you get that email? Can you post it here?

I do hope your kids got good news @ambkeegan and @annamom .

@tranhlok They released the results? Can you explain? There is nothing in my son’s email or on the portal that has changed.

@ambkeegan I haven’t got any updates yet but my portal has been changed. My application checklist is gone and a picture of CWRU popped up.

@OJJJJJJJJBK same

Is it a picture of their student center building? Because that is what the admitted students see also

My D withdrew from the WL last week, and her portal no longer has a checklist and it has a big picture of a new building. I think the last update is there about no longer being on WL.

That portal address now has the checklist and content for 1st year admitted students.

One of my friend who got rejected logged in to his portal and saw the picture as well.

Good luck everyone waiting for good news. It’s been quite a situation with CWRU this year. All the best to you.

The checklist is back

Did any of you on the WL get any info. on Friday? I am still reading this thread and waiting for CC friends to get accepted. Fingers crossed.

email sent. offered the gap year again. no admissions from the wait list this year. not we would have never looked at CW if did not get no cost application fee and numerous emails and mail from this university.

Their yield must be out the wazoo based on how many they normally accept from their WL! Don’t they usually take 25-33% of their freshman class from the WL?

From a business stand point, good for Case. They are doing what they set out to do. Totally tightened things up and are raising their desirability.

On the other hand, I do feel badly for those like my D who really like the school, seem to be a great fit for it, and unfortunately got caught in the change-up year.

Best of luck to all.

I opened the form and it said deferring enrollment to fall 2018

I am trying to understand this thread. Is it correct that Case did NOT go to its wait list this year except to offer deferred enrollment?

@ViolaMom12 I think its too early to know exactly what happened. Its only May 21st. There
is movement as remember a few kids who payed for CWRU on May 1st, will pull out, as they get off another school’s waitlist. The waitlist game is not over until July or August, at some schools and I would bet CWRU is the same.

As accepted students get into OTHER schools from waitlists, they will inform CWRU that they are not coming. Students also can change their minds
and that happens at every single school across the USA. Students just decide at the very last second to go to an in state school, and beg and get in, instead of going out of state for instance. Finances can push kids to withdraw.

So Waitlisted candidates usually will not get a firm reject until July or August, has been our experience.
Colleges keep their options open with waitlists. Its normal.

It makes no sense to bash CWRU based on waitlists, its a very normal option. Students can choose not
to get onto waitlists. Or withdraw at any time. The gap year option is new, but I guess may be a growing trend,
across the USA, and too bad its a surprise for some on this thread. (including me).
