I am so disappointed.
It sounds like they will go to the waitlist as needed: perhaps if people change their minds, or if there are new requests for gap years. I bet that they are already slightly under enrolled but are ok with the lower number in order to be able to practice social distancing should the campus open in the fall.
@honestlyidek dartmouth said they have not accepted anyone off the waitlist (I called and was told this, and in their email they mentioned that they didn’t even know if they’d be able to go to it this year). why did you lie and say you were accepted off of it?
Did everyone get today’s email that confirms what prefroshxo wrote?
Yes, we received an email on 5/28 conveying the same. Thanks.
I got an email June 24 saying that there’s a chance Dartmouth might go to the waitlist - they are still unsure.
Did you guys all receive this email:
As indicated in my update a few weeks ago, the Class of 2024 is currently fully enrolled.
I can’t say with certainty what lies ahead for our wait list. Nevertheless, we remain impressed by your candidacy and are grateful for your continued interest in the College. Thus, we want to keep you in the loop with what’s happening here in Hanover.
As you may know, Dartmouth will soon decide how it will approach the fall 2020 term. This may or may not impact our Class of 2024 enrollment. Should places become available after this decision is announced, we will review the candidacies that are active on our wait list. Please note: applicants admitted from the wait list will be offered a place in the Class of 2024, and will not be eligible to postpone their enrollment to the Class of 2025.
If you choose to remain active on our wait list, we will update you again by mid-July, or perhaps sooner if we have news to share before then.
If you decide that you would like to remove your candidacy from further consideration, please let us know by updating your Wait List Reply Form. And please also accept our best wishes in your future endeavors.
Yes, I believe everyone still on the wait list received that email.
Do you guys think it is worth it to send another LOCI (I sent one around March/April) as a last attempt to help yourself off of the waitlist?
@Yaycollege2020 Probably not, at least I didn’t do that. I have a friend whose uncle works with admissions, and I’ve heard that they don’t look fondly upon students who send in lots of materials/emails for the waitlist. But that’s just secondhand info though - so you can do what you want at your own risk. I’m trying to make sure I stay on their good sides lol. It’s a tough game to balance tbh
i just got in today at 12:43! so they are still accepting people! kind of in shock still
Wow congrats! Are you comfortable sharing if you’re full pay and what kind of updates you sent? How did they notify you?
I am full pay and I sent in 2 updates, one in April and another in mid-June. I also sent in my final course grades. It was an email and a portal update! Feel free to reach out with anything else!
I was accepted yesterday by email and they updated my college portal. I will be attending, they gave me until July 8th to decide. If you have any questions respond and ill get back to you (:
@Notproudofthis @2024zebra What state are you from?
Florida
One could reasonably expect more movement off the waitlist after July 10. Take a look at this article. Good luck.
@Notproudofthis @2024zebra yo congrats guys, i got in as well
@mahir93 congrats man are you planning on attending
@2024zebra @mahir93 congrats! do you guys mind sharing how many updates you sent?
I think there will be more movement on the waitlist…Dartmouth announced that they are cutting 5 Varsity sports immediately. There will certainly be athletes changing plans. Next years class will have 10% less athletic spots because of the athletic cuts as well.
