Turningblind: You should call UCSD admission and ask them what is your score, what is their cut off score for this year. I think it must be a mistake that they rejected you.

accepted: 3.67 sociology major

either turningblind is lying OR he did something bad (suspension perma record stuff) theres no way theyd reject you with that high of scores

Status: Accepted, OOS

2 for 2 now. Admitted to both UCLA and UCSD, now I’m hoping for Berkeley…

Where’s the website to appeal decisions? I can’t find it.

Although I am very slightly underqualified I feel that I have something to say about myself =X.

Hmmm… just out of curiosity… if you had 88/20 as in the situation dandaman proposed, wouldn’t that be a 4.4 W GPA? So why is it impossible to have over 4.33 W?

That’s very unlike your user name, UCI2011 :x

I definitely didn’t expect to get in cause the application was so… simple? I didn’t have to send in a transcript, and they didn’t even want recommendations, and I remember feeling like I couldn’t really bring out some of my special qualities. o.O

dude I have absolutely no idea how that point thing works… >.>

For the ppl who are wondering how I got in with such low stats as an OOS, here’s my full resume

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=308428

including internships, scholarships, national/international awards,

cbf88: Yes, I know. I think I’m just really emotional right now since it’s my first rejection =(. I kinda saw it happening, but it’s really upsetting how UCSD favors ELC students so much (they have like a 90 percent acceptance rate). I barely made the cut-off for my school and that hurt a lot. I know a few people from last year that had 4.0ish weighted GPAs that made ELC with 1600-1800 on the SAT and iffy SAT II scores that got in.

Heh, if you looked at the point system rubric beforehand, you’d realize your GPA and SATs alone probably would’ve guaranteed you admission xD With such a stellar application, is UCSD your first choice? OO;;

ACCEPTED!!! YAYY :D

Status: Accepted
UC GPA: 4.2 (Weighted)
SAT I: 2210 (One-sitting)
SAT II: 700 IIC, 740 Bio-M, 770 Lit
Rank: none.
Major: Human Biology
College: Revelle!

haha I am all about going into something without know what I’m doing (well, not really, but sometimes I get a nice surprise… XD) I don’t have a first choice because… basically, I figure, if I have no expectations, I can have no disappointment. All I can say is I did apply to better schools, so… I guess I’ll see…

Karch,

when did you hear UCLA???

Based on his major, he got a likely letter from HSSEAS at UCLA.

BruinsJEW: Karch is probably an engineering major.

Yep, I applied for the EECS major at UCLA.

REJECTED

UC GPA: 4.04
SAT I: 1900
SAT II: 630, 610
Major: Bioengineering (Biotech) ( I know it’s the impacted aspect which might have gotten me a rejection)
Alternate Major: Biological Sciences
Not ELC but in top 12.5% (extra points are added for that also)
Lots of biology/biotechnology extra curriculars (internships, jobs)

O well, hopefully UCLA sees things differently

Besides, I figured there’d be thousands of other kids with stats better than mine…
