Unable to validate your PID/PAC.

Okay stressed out,

I have similar stats then you. better actually yet i still got denied and i had a major challenge, much bigger than yours, i had to fight for my life during the hardest year in any jrs life.

bruins, appeal…you had cancer…can-****ing-cer…GAHHHH. i would go over there and start killing people if i was in your situation

What’s the asian to caucasian acceptance rate at UCSD? I am getting the inclination that a lot more Asians have been accepted. Even out of state, it’s the same case. And as dandan or w/e his name is, he’s a white jewish male as myself and he was denied.

cough bitter betty…
but yeah, I defenitely feel for you w/ the whole cancer situation and all… let’s hope for the best and wait for UCLA, okay? :)

Bruins, don’t worry…we have to hope/pray LA sees differently, and for our sakes…that they release decisions like…now

yeah, bruins, appeal. someone in admissions clearly wasn’t thinking or was just being an all-around dumbass.

Accepted to bioengineering and Muir. This actually makes me more mad because of the fact that i can’t go to UCSD because my parents won’t pay for it. ahhhhhhhhh :(

umm… asians and caucasians have pretty much the same going against them during the application process since both races historically do pretty well. you basically need to be black, hispanic, or american indian to have affirmative action on your side.

BruinsJEW - stressed0ut may have just had better essays than you or something. What are your stats? You can’t rely on your essays or life challenges (I’m not trying to belittle your struggle with cancer or anything, and I apologize if I’m coming off like that) to make up for low-ish stats if that’s what you have.

I don’t see how religion has any involvement in admissions (They’d be far more interested in race than religion, and they’re supposed to have stopped looking at race a long time ago).

Okay my stats:
3.7 weighted, 1970 SAT, 650 SATII, 690 SATII, good essays, california distinguished school

Try to also post in one thread to keep track of stats of those accepted/rejected: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=313063

REJECTED
i am so fcking ****ed off. ucsd was my top choice, over berkeley, ucla, usc, and upenn.

UC GPA: 4.31
SAT: 2370
SAT II: 800, 790
ECs: Law intership, 1 year work experience, JSA, Academic Decathlon
Essays: I thought pretty good…

wow turningblind… I would be beyond *ing *ed off…
so sorry! :(

it looks like they rejected people who were overqualified, that makes no sense…not that i was overqualified, but turningblind…

turningblind - SHOCKING! With those stats you’ll obviously get in somewhere that’s really good, but I can’t believe that you didn’t get into UCSD with those stellar stats O_o

Bell curves and university rejections: My life as a senior.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Normal_approximation_to_binomial.svg

well I defenitely wasn’t overqualified… nor was I underqualified (IMHO). I thought UCSD was a total match for me.

turningblind i would bust a cap in someone’s arse if i were u u should seriously appeal

accepted to erc!
