I’m talking about for regular decision. I know this is a deferred thread, this one’s just more active. Do we have any idea how many apps total this year?
Are you saying last year as in December 2023 or previous admissions cycle. Because this year everyone was either deffered or accepted EA
I know some people that got rejected!!
Really! I couldn’t find anyone here or on A2C. Must have been very low stats.
I know very few that got accepted most were deferred
The good news is that this means most of the acceptances are still coming.
I heard there were rejected / denied in Dec 2023. someone on Facebook went to an admitted tour and Clemson put up stats for applications in EA for this year. Here is what was on the slide at the admitted tour: (THIS YEAR)
35,580 applications
13,568 admitted
1300-1450 (middle 50% test scores) for score submitters
69% (top 10% class rank)
compared to LAST YEAR:
26,000 applications
15,000 deferred
500 denied
damn thats gotta be super demoralizing, rejection was more selective than any ivy and still getting picked
Yes. But since they received even more EA apps this year, I would expect that number to be even greater.
Just looking at the math from last year, I would estimate around 35K-40K regular decision applications. Total apps are probably around 65K, give or take. Last year the total was just over 62K and more this year.
Interesting. Thanks for the data. 38% acceptance rate seems kind of high. Probably because we have lot’s of OOS here on CC. Probably a lot easier to get in if from SC.
Compared to 58% last year in EA
On their website it shows that last year they admitted a total of 22,879. So well over half the students they will admit have been accounted for. Only space for about 9,300 more kids. Yikes!
They probably are anticipating decreased yield, so they will be letting more in this time around. Also, that number does not include the bridge programs (I don’t think) and none of those spots have been filled yet.
They do have to be careful of that though. My son also got into TCU and they said they ran into a problem last year where they accepted more kids than usual based on the number of apps and probability of acceptance of offers, and more kids accepted than anticipated and they had a bit of a housing crisis since freshman are required to live on campus.
Clemson has many new housing projects that will be finished next year. Because of that, I think there will be a lot of bridge program offers so people can move into that new housing next year.
Is Bridge like a junior college for a year or two and then, with good grades, you are guaranteed to be accepted to Clemson? Sorry, I’m an out-of-stater.
What is a bridge program
Yeah basically.Bridge to Clemson Program | Clemson University
I agree I think these are just straight up EA numbers because the bridge program etc have not been “assigned” yet. I was not at the tour. someone posted the picture of the slide on FB. Here in a couple days everyone here hopefully can sign up to see that side and others soon. Luck to all. My Daughter was lucky in Dec. but we are so excited to hear all about the acceptances on here. We will be watching for all the great posts on this tread.
