Did you get the Presidential alert?

I didn’t get the alert and I have a strong signal! ?? Verizon Prepaid.

I got it, as did my husband. But honestly if zombies are attacking or the you know what is hitting the fan, I’d rather have my last few moments in peace and oblivion.

I received it at least seven times.

Caramel-colored female and I got two alerts. (Psst, don’t tell them.) I heard the reminder discussion on the radio this morning so it didn’t scare me. Android phone. I’m also concerned about the Big Brother-ness of it all.

I got it. I’m a 65 year old woman. Not a citizen. I just rolled my eyes then deleted it cause I’m in the middle of trying to meet s deadline - what was it?

Oh, I googled it. In this era they should rename it. National or Nationwide alert maybe?

I got it. Android, Virgin Mobile. But I couldn’t find any way to delete the stupid thing. I really don’t want to see it every time I send or receive a message!

This is exactly how “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” started :-S

All four of us got it - two iphone Xs and one iphone 6 in the house, and the iphone X at college, all on Verizon.

I didn’t have the TV on to check there.

Got it as I was watching a news report on the alert. Seems I got mine right on schedule because it matched when the reporter got his test message. I think I also heard one on the TV a few moments later.

I got it. I was aware it might happen, so it didn’t scare me. I heard several tests on different radio stations as well today.

Got it, but person I was with didn’t. They had an iPhone with Sprint.

Yep. My bil has concerns about Russian or Chinese hacking of the system.

I’m with the Twitter post that said if it was that simple to reach so many people at once, why aren’t we doing an alert to sign people up to vote and linking to the website to register.

(editing to say I hope this post isn’t seen as political - no more than a thread entitled "Presidential Alert)

If the alert is officially called a “Presidential Alert,” it is in no way political to call it by its proper name.

As @doschicos said a few pages back, it is Big Brotherish and dystopian. I wonder if the government knows important things we don’t know. Like, we’re about to be attacked by North Korea or something.

I also wonder if it was sent to “burner” phones, which allegedly can’t be traced.

@Nrdsb4 , I wasn’t knocking your thread title - apologies if it seemed I was. I hope that asking people to vote is not political in any offensive way either.

How did they get my cell phone number??

Yep…I got it…ATT, and I’m a woman. IPhone 6s.

Wonder what it was like at my school? I’m off on Wednesdays…but everyone at the school has phones…on all the time.

Did it come to computers too?

@thumper1 The participating phone companies sent out the alert per federal request. Alert did not show on computers.

DH & I both got the alert on our phones. Alert played on the TV a few minutes later.

I’m still not sure under what circumstances we’d all need to be alerted.
