Did you get the Presidential alert?

Our phones are now listed on my business account - not our personal account. We didn’t get the alert, thankfully. Wonder if having them on a business account mattered.

My phone is on DH’s business account. He got the alert, I didn’t.

D1 is also on our account; she just said she didn’t get the alert. D2’s phone is broken, so it wasn’t turned on yesterday.

So strange. I DK if my s’s got the alert. Haven’t heard.

Thanks for sharing that - I didn’t know about the feature!

@jym626 our accounts are on a business account.

My phone was off but suddenly lots of loud vibrating came from inside my bag. What I don’t like is that the alert disappeared after I swiped the screen. In a true emergency, I’d like to be able to go back and read the announcement again.

On my dumb phone, the alert looked like a text message. I guess there was no other way to do it. The sound was not my standard text message sound, though.

And you got the alert, @mom60? I guess I’ll just count my blessings.

On my iPhone 8 running iOS 12, you swipe down to pull up the Notification Center.

Nope, but H and I were in Canada. Don’t know if that’s why, though.

Neither my husband nor I got it.
I did not ask my son if he did.

I do not see a Notification Center on my Samsung S7. I can find Samsung Notifications, but there’s nothing there outside of Samsung updates, etc. Scrolling up, down, left, and right from the main screen gets me nothing other than the usual change volume, use flashlight/bluetooth/mobile data/etc.

My S is on the same plan we’re on with the same phone (we love these phones). He got the alert. So H and S did, but not me… same plan, same phone, H was right next to me in our car, S was back at the homestead. I’m definitely thinking it had to do with using my phone for music and/or the internet, but as mentioned before, other things like phone calls and texts will interrupt those, so there’s no reason this couldn’t have IMO.

As for the sound, it was so low neither of us would have caught it in the car if we didn’t know to expect it. We’d have just brushed it off unless we had been somewhere silent.

I didn’t think I had gotten it but when I went back to my home screen (I phone 6s) and swiped down, there was the notification. I don’t know what I was doing not to hear it. I might have been mowing the lawn. I guess if something happens while I am mowing then I’m doomed.

I guess you got mine!

How can I get daily scam phone calls/text but no alert? Fail!

I’m thinking many people who say they didn’t receive it, actually did, but don’t know how to check their phone to look for that missed notification. That seems easy to miss, even with regular texts.

I checked my notifications, and no alert.

Edit: If it’s really that easy to miss, then they need to go back to the drawing board.

Those that didn’t get the alert and have your settings “ON” for alerts (government and others)…do you get Amber Alerts??? (there is a toggle switch in settings for that too). If not, the two may be related.

I know how to check for notifications. I didn’t get it.

I do get Amber Alerts.

H checked my phone when his got it. I didn’t get it.
