Yeah its definitely odd. She was 5/5 so far on acceptances and we almost considered PLNU a slam dunk. To be fair it wasn’t my daughter’s first choice but still surprising. Not sure what they are looking for. It makes me wonder if she even has a shot with SDSU now. I hope you hear something soon!
What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking? Waiting on a decision.
Are you still waiting as well? We still haven’t heard anything either way. I like the online system better where decisions are seen by all applicants at once!
Hi there,
She is loving SHU so far. She did really well this semester so we are really happy for her. I know nursing is not easy! She kept saying all semester “thank god I took Anatomy and Physiology I & II in high school”. lol! The majority of nursing programs make you repeat it anyways if you took it, but I really think it helped her to do very well in that course.
The UDel nursing notification is a long wait:( Wishing your daughter all the luck for the UDel nursing acceptance!!
My daughter was accepted to Marquette nursing today with a scholarship!
My son was recently accepted to the Pitt BSN program with the guaranteed admissions to their nursing grad school.
Logistically, how does this work since most nurse tend to work a bit before grad schools? He’s interested in doing nurse anesthetist which typically requires 1 yr ICU experience.
Does anyone have any experience with Pitt GAP for nursing?
Did he get the invitation to have a Zoom with Marianne Smith? My daughter met her in April and she sent her an email this fall saying she didn’t need to do Zoom with her since they had already met, but it sounded like they were reaching out to ED applicants and doing Zoom calls…
My son got invited to meet with her. We went in person in the fall.
So far my son has been admitted to Suny Bing, Quinnipiac, MCPHS 3+3 PA program, Rutgers-Newark and Camden. But waiting on Penn ED. Tomorrow the wait will be over.
We are still waiting the long wait on UVA and UMiami which are his top two. A few others were in that were safeties but not sure if those are still going to remain except for Mason. Final of the top three and I think would have went to one was Penn State, but came in for Altoona and I think his main choice was for UP. We haven’t visited yet, but wants to so can rule in or out, it’s driving distance so can be done on a day off school/work. No merit on Penn State or at least not yet.
Be on the lookout for a giant pretzel later. I think ours came around the beginning of February last year. It was our favorite gift from the universities she got into.
Penn State is notoriously stingy with aid (merit and need-based). The maximum merit (only available to out of state students) at Penn State branch campuses is $6000/year (Discover Award), but I don’t know if nursing students are eligible. Is George Mason affordable?
Do you know if Penn State sends out merit, if it offers, long after acceptance notice? For us yes affordable because it’s not OOS. It’s the private schools that will be cost prohibitive for us without great merit offered.
I didn’t know when PSU sends out merit, but per the answer on the PSU thread, evidently not until February or later.
D25 has been admitted to Pitt (in state) and tonight heard from UNH with a hefty merit award that makes it cheaper than Pitt.
My daughter was accepted to Penn ED for Nursing tonight! She is so excited! She was also accepted to Case, SLU, Marquette and Pitt with merit. She had a 34 ACT, 4.0, nursing shadowing, hospital volunteering, and got her CNA license last summer.
My son rejected at Penn but accepted at Suny Bing, Quinnipiac, UVM, UNH, and MCPHS 3+3 PA program plus Rutgers Newark& Camden. He is bummed about Penn but has a bunch of good schools to choose from. Now the decision time comes. Wonder how he will choose.
Congratulations on great acceptances!
