do you have any gay teachers?

Was there a reason?

we have a drama teacher who’s gay. (male). other than that, no teachers that im aware of, but pleeenty of students.

a lot of people think that the mid 30’s, female teachers at my school who aren’t married MUST be lesbian.

i think that’s so ridiculous. just because you’re not married, does not make you gay.

gay marriage isnt legal in nj, avik.

Progressive Nation tour?!?!?! <33333 DT and Opeth and BTBaM and 3!!!

Anyways… hm, yeah, middle-school PE teacher was suspected of being lesbian. Everyone hated her, but not for that reason – 'cuz she was a b1tch.

Principal of my high school – this frickin’ AMAZING woman, extremely eloquent and obviously incredibly successful, and she’s only in her thirties! – is suspected, too; she’s jockish and unmarried.

One 12th grade English teacher is openly gay, and I hear she’s a great teacher, but I’m not gonna have her 'cuz she doesn’t teach AP.

My World History teacher is fairly-openly gay, and he’s the most amazing, intelligent man ever. I don’t always agree with his teaching methods, but he is by far the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever met. He teaches tons and tons of subjects at our school and he never doesn’t know the answer to a question.

I had this great public speaking professor at the University of Delaware Summer College. He was gay and the funniest person in the world, plus very effective as a teacher.

K done, I think.

Yes, we have 2 openly gay teachers and a few that aren’t open, but everyone in the GSA knows about.

I didn’t have any gay teachers, but I’m pretty sure the football coach was a child molester, not that it’s related.

A gym teacher of mine is a lesbian, and some of the members of a team she coaches have met her girlfriend, but she’s the only one that I know of. I go to a small school, and most of the teachers are 40-something and married.

Yeah, I’ve had a few, but no one makes a big deal over it…

The male French teacher is gay.

The IB Math pt. 1 teacher/softball coach/psycho butch is a lesbian.

i saw my dean at Pride :stuck_out_tongue: Nothing shocking though.

Also a lot of [female] gym teachers, my guidance counselor, an assistant principal, an english teacher… i’m sure there’s more, i just wish they were more… out.

My old eighth grade reading teacher is a lesbian. Some people dropped the class because of it. <eyeroll> People can be so stupid.</eyeroll>

There was a PE coach in middle school - he was gay.
I had a teacher in 7th grade named Mr. Gay.

I think it’s so cool that people don’t let the fact that a teacher is gay interfere with their opinion of their teaching. It sounds like a lot of the gay teachers you mentioned are quite good teachers and very knowledgeable.

As for my school, we don’t have any openly gay teachers. I’m not sure if we have any gay teachers, period. I live in UTAH, which is SUUUUPPPEEERRR conservative, so I doubt they’d hire an openly gay teacher.

A few years ago, our principal’s husband “came out” and people were asking HER to resign, because parents were “disgusted.” I thought that was horrible. Utah sucks that way. :-S

My AP chem teacher was a lesbian, and pretty much everyone knew it. I’m not sure if she actually told people about it or if it was just common knowledge (I don’t recall her ever saying anything about it in class). She was pretty cool though. I did terribly in her class because I was bad at math (lol), but it was a really fun class. XD We blew stuff up and lit stuff on fire and launched bottle rockets.

Haha the everyone thinks the band teacher is les and they refer to her as “Mr. Hansen” behind her back

No teacher would ever come out in my school district.

AP teacher made out with a coach. ms. weed & coach blue

“Do you have any gay teachers?”

i hope not…

In middle school, I think it was only my 8th grade (female) PE teacher. She was a very nice woman, and I felt bad when everyone said stuff about her. She introduced me to badminton. <3

In high school, there’s the (male) AP Bio/dance teacher, the (female) history teacher, and practically the whole language department. The AP Bio was a very nice man, but I didn’t like is teaching style. I’ve had 5 language teachers in high school, and 3 of them (2 male Spanish teachers and one female Sign Language) were gay. All three make my Top 10 Favorite Teachers list.
