<p>Well,as far as US is concerned,I hav seen many colleges dont consider aid option as a barrier for chances…(I m talkin mostly of top colleges here…)…for middle ranged colleges,yes,it will almost garranties ur adm(the best eg I can giv is Purdue…)…provided u hav a good stats record…</p>
<p>believe it or not…the amount u will pay will directly influence your admission… in top colleges…i mean u might not get rejected for not being able to pay…but u will certainly increase ur chances of getting in if u pay few more bucks…and by more i mean significantly more…that’s how the colleges provide generous grants to intels from Asia…they take it from some rich ‘not so intelligent bloke’ and give it to another poor genius fellow from asian and african countries…in that way they can maintain good financial equation as well as the so called ‘diversity’…</p>

<p>If you are willing to pay the full amount then you are ALMOST a guaranteed admit…I know a girl who got 1800 on her SATs with a low GPA (3 i think) and got accepted in Carleton because she paid the full amount…</p>
<p>significantly more means around 75% or more college fees…</p>
<p>thanks for the answers. i’m not planning to pay the full amount. (near 60%). What about top schools like harvard ,yale, stanford. by the way my scores are not so good. sat 2000.</p>
<p>one of my friends, who is already 30 years and decided to go back to school after selling his business is paying full amount and applying only to top 10 but with a sat 1950. someone told him that money matters. He also believes that his age and working experience will help. he was very succesfull in his career.
I don’t think money will decide in a school like cornell , JHU or harvard for example.</p>
<p>hey mate…one of my frens got into duke with 1860 SAT paying only about 1000$!!! and another one got into harvard with 1910 SAT paying around 2000$!!! in that sense u have good chances!!! infact very good…where are u from btw??</p>

<p>^…lol…well,first of all,I doubt that that 30 yr old friend of urs is eligible for an undergraduate couse at this age…</p>

<p>Colleges don’t discriminate people for their age; at least I read that in a statement from a univesity. In fact, if you are older than 25, you don’t need to have finished high school in order to enter a college. They wouldn’t bother to make that rule if they weren’t going to accept people of any age, would they?</p>
<p>Why is it so funny that somebody over 30 wants to go to college? Maybe he has decided that it is time for him to do so? Maybe when he was 18/19 he was unable to go for several reasons etc… I don’t see why it’s so funny.</p>
<p>Its not funny actually,it is a serious matter,if he has decided that,its a very appreciable decision…but at this age,many unis wont offer him UG level studies(coz they may offer upto 25 yrs of age…)…</p>
