I heard an interview on NPR with Martin Clunes a few weeks ago and now I am hooked. I have already watched the first 4 seasons and anxiously awaiting season 5.

My W loves the show and I’ve watched most of them as well (i.e. the ones that have played on PBS here so far).

My husband and I watched the whole series from beginning to end. We were so sad when we watched the last show (because it was over). We loved all the characters.

I think the next time we visit England we’ll go visit the town where the show was filmed - I found it on Google street view.

^yes, much to my H’s dismay we will also be visiting!

@skyhook - season 5 is being released in Britian next month, not sure when it will air in the US though.

Yay!! I will keep an eye open for it.

Well, it looks like a beautiful area to visit, show or no show.

I saw that crazy secretary on an episode of Midsomer Murders (PBS mystery show). She was kinda wacky on that show too.

My H and I both love this series. We have watched most episodes twice! You can find some promo photos from the new series if you google doc martin series 5. There is going to be a new receptionist and Eileen Atkins (Cranford, Upstairs, Downstairs) will be arriving as Martin’s Aunt Ruth.

My husband and I have not watched it, but Season 1 is on it’s way from Netflix. I am really looking forward to watching it. We just finished watching seasons 1-3 of The Big Bang Theory. That was fun.

We LOVE the show - watched it on Netflix streaming video. Looking forward to the next season!

DH is a big fan. He loves carmudgeons, and I’m endlessly fascinated by the size of Doc Martin’s ears.

We also decided that the entire first season must have been shot in one week because no way is there that much sun in that part of England.

I hope this link works. I was so enamored of the Doc Martin location that I began a Google map of filming locations for that show and others of its ilk that I have enjoyed. Someday I’ll visit some of them. Also includes Ireland. Feel free to add to or edit the map.

I watched it streamed through netflix too. What a delightful show! I also would like to visit the location. When I first read your post mamom, I thought you said that you HAD an interview with Martin Clunes, not that you HEARD and interview with him! I was very impressed!

Thanks for the map IloveLA! I would also like to visit the Monarch of the Glen location!

I love LA - map is very cool! I could plan a long trip to England around those sites and I’ll bet H would never guess why. :)

kathiep- I wish I had interviewed Martin Clunes, he sounded like a fun guy on NPR, he is around my age too. Although kathliamom says, he does have awfully big ears!

DH and I watched our first episode last night. We are hooked. We will watch one or two episodes a night until we watch them all. I love Netflix

katliamom- according to an interview I heard, it is filmed in an abbreviated time frame, due to the seasons, in order to capture the village the way they do.

Thanks for starting this thread. Just watched three episodes-via streaming netflix, and I’m hooked. Used to be avid House watcher, but this is so much better.
Can understand why everyone wants to visit Cornish ? …love that town, and people! Back to watching Season 1 - part four. Thanks

The problem with finding a good series several seasons after it started is that you get you fix nightly (or however you watch the old episodes) and then there is nothing while you wait for the new season.

Glad I found others who like and know about the series!

I love this show. Until I can do marathon-watching over Christmas Break, I’ll have to settle for what PBS gives me.

Love this show and glad to hear another season will be available soon. Do you folks think Doc is an Aspie?

Hugcheck, after four episodes, I certainly think he is an Aspie!
