Does your smartphone crash often when you visit a busy web site?

My iPhone 4S has started to act up recently.

Whenever I go to a busy web site (like CNN’s latest news), the whole application disappears. A friend of mine has an Android phone, and he told me he has a similar problem. He told me that if you do not tap too fast, it could help a little bit.

Some web sites are better than others. When there are a lot of video or a lot of pictures, I tend to run into this problem. It is very annoying. The hi-tech industry keeps giving us the latest and newest gadget and UPGRADE (it could just a bug fix), but it could not give us a product that is as reliable as our cheap microwave appliance.

I did try to close as many applications as I can because I know these devices (esp. the software) are “fragile”.

Do you run into any such problems?

I wish all the pictures and videos should be “banned” until the web site becomes more reliable. One of my colleagues actually think it is better for the hi-tech industry to stop producing the newest and sexiest gadget and just “fix” the problems in the existing products for the next 5-10 years. It will benefit everybody. We do not need a new gadget every 2 years. /rant off.

no, but I don’t go on that many on my 4s. plan on updating to 6 soon or 7?

No, I am thinking of even going back to a flip phone. (But then, how can I visit the CC site? I have by and large stopped using computers at home altogether except during our yearly tax reporting season.)

I am thinking of turning off something on my phone so that it will not crash so often. Or, maybe stop visiting any site with many video, pictures, advertisement, etc., e.g., just plain text.

H has a 4 that cannot be updated and he has very little apps, he uses 3G .he wants to go to the 6 or 7 soon as the security will be better. have you thought of the larger 6? i plan on the smaller 6 one, both Ds have the 5 because it is small. it just seems if that is your computer you might want the latest? just my thinking,

My wife suggested me to get a 6 plus. But I hate to get rid of my existing phone that is still not broken (except for the occasional crash of the browser.)

Our child has a 6. He does not want a 6 plus for some unlnown reason.

Who knows. I may eventually upgrade my phone (used as my “computer”.)
