Downton Abbey

Yea, not that curios. And I already renewed my membership a couple of months ago.

I already watched season five and loved it! I did think the Bates and Anna storyline was a bit tedious. I can’t say much because I don’t want to give too much away, but the season is worth the wait.

NOTE - VAGUE SPOILERS

I agree about the tediousness of the Bates/Anna thing. I also thought there were too many scenes dedicated to edith’s thing. And I didn’t understand the point of the fire. You’d think it would be a big thing, one scene and done didn’t seem right.

I found Bates and Anna tedious the first time around - good to know I have more to look forward to. I like Anna but for whatever reason Bates gets on my nerves.

I just watched the entire season 5 on DVD. How could the writers do that to the dog ISIS-- now I’m really mad! :o3

OK, stop with the spoilers already! Or at least put a spoiler tag at the top of your post first.

Season 5 hasn’t aired in the US yet?

No, not til Jan. 4th.

Yes, PLEASE stop with the spoilers, no matter how vague! :)

You could start a “spoiler” thread for those of you who have seen it and want to discuss it…

Last year I received the DVD as a result of my PBS pledge. I felt like I couldn’t really participate in this thread because I didn’t remember what had happened each week and didn’t want to spoil anything.

The series has not aired here in the U.S. Please put SPOILER ALERT at the top of any post that gives any information about the series before it airs here.

I’m going to edit the post that gives specific information on season 5.

I have watched season 5 but won’t spoil anything. I do have to say, though, I really dislike that a season of DA is only 8 episodes (9 counting the Christmas episode). I guess that’s better than the whopping 3 episodes that a season of Sherlock entails. :)

I have watched season 5 already.
It’s available on the internet at a site that seems legit to me. If anyone is interested in this site, just PM me. I have no stake in this - just willing to pass along info that was passed along to me. I’ve watched many other British TV shows (Selfridge, Call the Midwife…) via this site and my experience with it has been excellent.

I hope that this post isn’t viewed as spam as I have no connection to the site except as someone who has visited it.

D & I watched the first episode of Season 5 on an internet website. Last night PBS pledge drive had a few scenes from upcoming season… really looking forward to it

I have a site where I could watch ahead but I find that I am willing to wait. I like the group watching togetherness.

My version of group watching togetherness is watching it with my family - which is what I did. My DH was away on business during that time and my D and I waited for him to return before we resumed. :)

Dh and I enjoy watching together weekly. I don’t want to jump ahead, but thanks for the offer of the website.

DH and I enjoy watching together weekly too. Plus, I like to have something to look forward to after Christmas.

I received an email last night - I won tickets from our PBS station to see a preview screening of Season 5 next week. The reception includes several cast members from the show!
