I don’t think Mary’s issue with Tony was physical attraction or compatibility. She made a comment to the effect that it took getting away from him and clearing her head to realize that she might not be all that happy with him long term. Although she didn’t really go into detail, I have the sense that she doesn’t consider him to have much depth.
Well, I find Tony fairly boring and so would suspect that Mary would too…lol.
Actually she has a lot more in common with Tom. They’re both smart, young, looking for new mates and have an entire estate in common. Better than Match dot com offers! Not to mention kids are related.
Mary and Tom - we like that matchup here too!
Mary and Tom–he just doesn’t seem her physical type.
Sybil thought he was fine !
I just don’t think that would ever happen. Too much class difference, even though he’s now “one of the family.” Not.
I just realized that the actress who plays Daisy also plays Gwynne on Galavant. Anyone else watching that?
Daisy and Rose are both in the new Cinderella movie coming from Disney. Rose is Cinderella and Daisy is one of the step-sisters.
@parentofpeople: I guess she has that servant-look cast type!
And Lord Grantham played the head pirate in Galavant the week before. It was awfully strange to see him doing comedic song and dance numbers.
Maybe Lord Grantham is trying to find alternative sources of funding…
How did I not notice that???
LOLOL!
Forgive me if this has been posted already, but a friend just sent me a link to this Christmas time parody of Downton done by George Cloony and the Downton cast. It is beyond hilarious. Enjoy!

The best part of that-- Lord Grantham, seeing Cora with George Clooney romancing her, saying, “What does she see in that guy?”
That was hilarious!
I loved seeing Violet doing the downhill.
That was such fun to watch. Thanks for posting the link.
More, more!!
I liked Thomas stealing the silver.
Just watched the last epi. For the most part I thought it was a yawner. Edith’s Marigold story is getting old and I’m really tired of Bates as a murderer storyline again. Thankfully, Mary is going to bin boring beyond words LG.
Agree with Barrows trying to find a cure for being gay. Interesting twist I wasn’t expecting.
Can’t believe that was all there was to the Baxter story. Very anticlimactic.
I was glad to see Cora doing something for herself for a change.
Sarah Bunting had to say something that would get the Russians knickers in a knot so they would have to quickly go see the artifacts before storming out and so we could find out about Violet and the Russian.
But is the Baxter story over? I think Baxter’s evil footman left Baxter’s employer’s house and was hired by Gillingham as his valet.
Oooh, that is a very good thought…
