Downton Abbey

I don’t think Rosamund is Edith’s mother. I really don’t. I think Rosamund is just a convenient mother-alternative for Edith to confide in and to see as an interesting woman who lives on her own in London. Perhaps someone she can model her future on.

I don’t think Rosemund is Edith’s mother, either.

*Robert and Cora’s eldest daughter, I meant to write in #4057.

Maybe Rosamund is not Edith’s mother but she did have an out of wedlock child and had to give that child up. After Edith moves to London, Rosmund goes searching for her lost child and finds out that he is the cute footman! Or maybe it’s the blackmail woman! So many possibilities…

I don’t think Rosamund is Edith’s biological mother. But I do think Rosamund may have had to give up a child in the past and identifies with Edith’s plight. However, I believe Rosamund was married before and is now widowed? So, the pregnancy may have been when she was really young, before her marriage.

Those that have watched the series already are laughing at all of us who are guessing at plot twists

I think that’s what makes this show so good. You watch an episode, thinking nothing really happened, then when the season (or series in this case) is over, you look back and see how much foretelling there was in very small and what seems like insignificant exchanges. So then it makes you want to go back and watch the whole season again so you can pick up on all that stuff!

^^. I hope it gets better, too. I did find it a tad boring. The hospital thread bores me, too.

^^^yess. The hospital plot is contrived just to give Violet, Isobel and Cora something to fight about.

What happened to the guy Mary met at the end of last season? The one in the car? It’s fine to stretch things out on American shows where we have 22 episodes, but we’ve made the clubhouse turn here, only 6 episodes left and then Christmas. Let’s go!

If someone is going to die, I think it will be Anna. She’ll miscarry and the hospital won’t be able to help her. After all, Anna and Bates are never allowed to be happy in this show.

You are all missing the little mention last wk of the house being sold at auction - the old owner lord whoevertheheck says “there won’t be a big house like this that isn’t an institution” - Downton becomes the improved cottage hospital because someone bequeths it - Violet doesn’t have the moolah but doesn’t Mary’s little boy?

Violet has quite a house herself.

^^“Little cottage” – ha ha ha.

“If someone is going to die, I think it will be Anna. She’ll miscarry and the hospital won’t be able to help her.”

Plus, a pregnancy gone wrong is proven killer of young women on this show.

I think they will shock us all by having no one die! Has there been a season with no major death? The show opened with the Titanic going down and that set the tone.

Downton fans. I’m excited that this is coming to my city.

Remember that Text Santa ad they did last year with guest appearance by Clooney? Well they had another one this yr, there aren’t any spoilers so don’t worry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jW5CK6dEjA

just full screen it so you dont see anything on the sidebar you dont want to see…

Lol. I’ve already seen the entire season. The wild plot lines some of you are coming up with is better than the actual story.

Thanks, @amandakayak, that was fun.

@GMTplus7, I completely agree!
