The blue flannel shirt looks like she got chilly during the shoot, put it on and the photographer thought it was planned? LOL
I’ll be back on line if and when I actually have a chance to wear it. I’m so pleased you all like it, and don’t think it’s too young. My friend and I can always loan our dresses to her twin daughters, age 27.
The only thing worse than that flannel shirt would be a red and black one, or a RL Native American sweater.
I think the buffalo plaid shirt is all of a piece with the heavy boots and the socks or legwarmers or whatever she is wearing on her ankles. If you admit heavy socks and fur-trimmed boots with that delicate beaded dress, the buffalo plaid shirt belongs too.
Like many here, I’ve been rewatching the first season. Edith, Barrows and Baxter are more horrid than I remembered!
Sorry! Meant O’Brien!
O’Brian was disgusting. She caused Cora’s miscarriage, remember?
Why is Barrow now persona non grata with the upstairs family? He had them completely snowed, and now that he’s showing some good side, they want to get rid of him. Did I miss something? Was his sexual orientation revealed?
I know dragonmom. I keep wondering what I missed. He seems so concerned about losing his job. Why? I know something was said about downsizing staff in the future. But he seems to be the only one concerned.
“When we unleash the dogs of war, we must go where they take us.”
dragonmom----
Barrow was pretty mean when Gwen and her husband came to “luncheon”–he tried humiliating her and Robert called him out for it–Thomas gets what he deserves.
Wasn’t that quite the spectacular ulcer-bursting scene?! Talk about a blood bath!
It was! I couldn’t watch it!
Seriously, ugly and scary. So will Robert die? Change his mother’s mind?
And MADad, Barrow was being singled out before that episode.
Grab the napkins!
I couldn’t believe how the women continue to talk about other business while Robert is being carted out by the ambulance crew bathed in his own blood. Sheesh!
Holy shades of GOT!
Cora put on her gloves before going out the door to the hospital. Was still wearing her tiara.
I don’t know why that would be surprising. I’m sure it wouldn’t have occurred to her to take off her tiara at such a fraught moment and putting on gloves before going out would have been pure reflex for a lady of her era.
It seems pretty obvious that JF is frantically tying up every possible loose end before the end of the series but I didn’t expect him to be pairing off every single downstairs character at the last minute (except Thomas, of course). Even Mrs. Patmore is going to be joined up with Mr. Mason, apparently to Daisy’s dismay.
BTW, why is Daisy such a total jerk this season? She used to be a bit dim but sweet but I’ve really gone off her lately.
I totally agree. Daisey is becoming a whining annoyance. I agree with her stand, but her manner is annoying.
I can’t honestly think of any scene in the entire series that had me as grossed out as that dinner table scene with Robert. Yuck! Did they say which hospital they took him to? I thought it was the local one. Were they really prepared to handle that kind of surgery?
So Mary is finally onto the little Marigold story… wonder who she will trick into telling her? And I wonder if Anna will now say anything to anyone downstairs about Mary asking her about it.
The actors who play Lady Edith and Footman Andy the illiterate future pig farmer are dating.
