Julien had a better ending for her. Oh well.
Will Carson and Mrs. Hughes last long? He’s already picky about her cooking.
Behind the scenes interview of how they filmed “that dining room scene” messy to watch, messy to film
Agree that Daisy is totally annoying this season! She needs a good smack!
I’ve also been wondering what I missed about Barrow – from the beginning of this season he seems to know he’s going to be sacked and Carson and others are all but ushering him out the door. I asked H, really thinking I missed something, and he (H) mentioned the potential downsizing – but then why is Barrow the only one worried about it? And if that’s the case, why isn’t he just let go? Plus, after all the previous seasons of showing nothing but Barrow’s “dark side,” I’ve been thrown off some by the recent showcasing of his “lighter side.”
Really hoping Mrs. Hughes puts Carson in his place!
Can someone recap for me what Violet and Cora said to each other that Mary overheard re: Marigold?
Did Mary hear something from Violet? I thought when Edith said she needed to go check on the children and Mary replied “Of course you do.” that she thought Edith was a bit too maternal.
And if I wanted the scene from “Alien” I would have put in the DVD.
Shed a few tears related to Sybil again this week when Tom talked about their relationship. I think Tom is my favorite character of all with Isobel and Lady Violet running close behind. I thought it was sweet to see Robert and Cora with the grandchildren, although a bit strange to have them looking at “grown up” books (even with pictures, they appeared too much for the children). I’m always a bit surprised that we don’t see Isobel interacting with George as the only child of her only child.
Be careful reading any articles from the UK. I ran into some spoilers by following a couple of these links
^^Aaaugh! Too late!!! One of the articles is a summary of the entire last episode/season!
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Once again, since the majority of posters are from the US, spoilers, including links to UK recaps, are NOT appropriate here. There is a spoiler thread to discuss those:

Thought it was weird about Baxter’s not being a witness–the plot just dead ended. Thank goodness.
Guess that was the end of the cops show contract.
Daisy has just gone nutty. Guess she was in her “save the world” mode and now that Mr. Mason is “saved” and doing quite well (thank you) she feels left out.
Predictions:
Mrs. Hughes throws a plateful of roasted beets at Mr. Carson when he says “they aren’t quite done enough.” Then she tells him “You can’t have it both ways–either good in the kitchen or good in bed!”
Mary has another " husband interview" with car guy in London and the chambermaid shows up again.
Car guys are good in bed–which Tom tried to tell her earlier. Sybil didn’t marry him just because he was the chauffeur.
Edith’s new pretty young thing editor decides the agent is worth pursuing much to Edith’s dismay. But since the series is winding down and there isn’t time, the agent fends the new editor off in the same episode establishing that he really doesn’t have good taste in women since he’d rather have Edith.
Barrow’s teaches pig butler to read and write. But since the reading lessons are in his room and they’re keeping it secret–there is “talk”. Moseley of all people figures it out and decides MAYBE there may be a gleam of hope for Barrow’s soul. But he doubts it.
Robert recovers but it isn’t pretty. Nobody now cares what happens to the hospital (I know I never did)
Cora mopes a lot–(this isn’t a real prediction–more of an observation)
Mary decides Edith must be a virgin mother because she just can’t get her head around it.
Mrs. Patmore on her way out the door to see Mr. Mason is tripped by Daisy. The fresh baked cherry pie goes everywhere. Patmore tells Daisy to clean it up.
Binged the last two episodes before watching last night so not sure when things took place but I’m loving Tom being back and it’s nice to see Edith w/ new love interest and taking control of the newspaper.
I don’t think Robert will die. Too early in the season for that. But I think his hospitalization will have something to do with Violet changing her mind as they need to wrap that storyline up.
I’m guessing that, now that Mr. Coyle knows that Baxter was on the witness list, he’ll somehow arrange to stalk her or threaten her. And Moseley will step up to the plate and do away with Coyle.
And I can’t wait to see what Mrs. Hughes does with – no, to – Mr. Carson regarding the cooking!!
Two seasons of The Knick spoiled me for that dining room scene. I wasn’t even fazed … much. I hope Mary does find out about Marigold. She’ll confront Edith, Edith will shrug it off since everyone else supports her, she’ll ask Cora why she was kept in the dark since everyone else knew, and Cora will tell her it was none of her business, and the scene will end with that shocked look on Mary’s face. I’m surprised Mary hasn’t figured it out already. When a girl dropped out of sight like that, the reason was pretty much an open secret.
“shocked look on Mary’s face”
always my favorite moments!

Quite true. Her sister drops out of sight, then she has a “ward”…or is Lady Mary so self absorbed that she can’t be bothered to think about Edith at all?
I’m not a person who likes to see blood on camera but kudos to DA for the drama…I thought it would be a bloodless heart attack.
But can someone please remind me what Cora and Violet said to each other that lead Mary to start wondering about Marigold??
@VeryHappy it was something about there already being enough secrets, and specifically mentioned Marigold. They were fighting over Cora’s direct talk to their guest regarding the hospital. Cora said something like, better to be honest, we’ve had too many secrets, let’s not have any more of them and Violet asked if she meant Marigold? That’s settled and you know I am sorry, now let us concentrate on Robert. Mary was behind them and overheard.
With all the talk it seems Mary would have “overheard” long ago. But Anna seems to be slipping in the lady’s maid department in keeping her employer informed.
So it’ll be Anna’s fault–
Mary:“REALLY Anna? You couldn’t have told me? Heck, you were childless before me, what do you want?”
Anna: “But if you don’t have anything good to say about someone you shouldn’t say it!”
Mary: “But this is about EDITH!”
I just re-watched the entire episode, and re-ran that snippet a few times. @parentofpeople, that’s exactly correct. Thanks very much.
