Listening to this week’s podcast and love hearing how much TWW influenced Julian Fellowes in his character development. Two of my favorite shows ever:)

The West Wing. Fellowes talks about that show being a big influence, as well as Mad Men and The Good Wife. All favorites of mine. Just watched a preview of Sunday’s finale in my FB feed. I think there’s 2 pretty big reveals embedded there, so if want to avoid spoilers, don’t go there.

The child playing marigold on Downton Abbey does appear to have down syndrome.
Huh? Actually, twins play Marigold and they don’t look like they have Down’s syndrome in photos of them off set.
Given all the care they’ve taken with that consultant guy to get the actions, dress,and manners correct for the period (enough to fill two full specials about Manners), I’m surprised they haven’t done the same with Fellowes’s scripts. Seems like we regularly hear jarring modern words or phrases on Downton Abbey. Case in point: Matthew saying he had a “steep learning curve.”
Does anyone know how long the finale is? My DVR cut off the last minutes of the previous episode, and I will be sad if that happens this Sunday.
Saw a clip/trailer for the last episode. Definitely seems to be a spoiler in there! I will button my lips about it…
I’m not looking at anything about the show (except this thread) until after it’s aired. I really don’t want to have it spoiled beforehand.

But I think the actual episode is shorter.
You should be able to tell your DVR to record an hour past what it thinks is the end time so you’ll be sure to get it all.
