Downton Abbey

Oh well, his character was probably too nice to be interesting to play.

Justified begins January 8th!
;)

Just finished Season 1 on Netflix (which we had intended to keep just for one month at the hoidays). Gasp - Season 2 is not there. Jumping to the end of this thread to ask for advise.

Netflix only has season one.
You could probably rent it or get it from itunes.

colorado_mom, you can sign up for Amazon Prime’s free 30 day trial. That will allow you to watch season 2 for free on Amazon’s Streaming Video. Just remember to cancel Amazon Prime before the free trial is up (or you might just decide to keep it  )

Huh - bad move by the actor in question. Something does not add up here. Just saying.

patsmom, you beat me to it.

That’s exactly what we did…when I saw that Netflix only had season 1, we immediately did the 30 free trial for Amazon Prime.
We enjoyed the free 2 day shipping for Amazon all through December AND got to watch Downton Season 2 for free.

Justified! Yes, yes.

Thanks for the Amazon Prime hint! Maybe we will do that after Netflix expires. Can you watch Amazon Prime only on computer, or also TV like we do for Netflix?

Here’s the link that explains how you can watch –
[Amazon.com Instant Video: Watch Anywhere](http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000663511&ref_=PIVHPBB_WhereToWatch_TV)

PBS also has an app if you watch it on your ipad like me.
& for those who watch Call theMidwife, I think there is a Christmas special on today.

My daughter just moved back to the states from London last week; she is very proud of the fact that she has seen season 3 and the rest of the family hasn’t  My BIL bought seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and has shared it with many friends and family members.

colorado mom-
We have a Roku box that we watch Netflix on.
When we signed up for 30 free amazon prime, we just added the Amazon prime streaming ‘channel’ to our roku…

Some newest TVs don’t even need a roku type thingy…

Ack, I’m so looking forward to watching Season 3 this month and can’t believe so many here have already seen it! I’ve already found out one spoiler and don’t want to know any more. I hope that starting next Sunday we can talk about the new (to me, anyway) season episode by episode.

No, no, no!!! I saw this thread bumped and it reminded me that season three was getting ready to start. Last year I got hooked and watched seasons 1 & 2 in a matter of four days online in January when I read about it on this thread. I googled and found season 3 online…I know I shouldn’t have…and watched the entire season last night and today. I promise no spoilers from me, and now I won’t be able to take part in any weekly discussions because I’ll forget what has happened at what stage and won’t want to risk a slip. I feel like I just ate an entire cake. I know I shouldn’t have, feel a bit guilty and slightly sick, but it was soooooo good going down! :o

Began to watch Season 2 a couple of nights ago, via Amazon Instant Video. Hoping to wrap it up in time to watch the premier of the PBS Season 3 broadcast this Sunday.

I hope O’Brien and Thomas get the hook soon. Great acting because I really can’t stand those two awful, awful characters. LOL. Also, when is Lady Grantham Cora going to get a clue? She’s giving Americans a bad name.

Thought you fans might find this interesting (hope it’s ok to post it)

I did not know about the Tut link. Must say, I have a bit of a yearning to go see the place next time I visit home.

DH saw that I was DVRing season 3 and sounded a bit disappointed!
He and I had great fun running through seasons 1 and 2 on Amazon Prime…he doesn’t like the idea of having to wait an entire week between episodes!!

Whispering to musicdad…season 3 is online. ;)

yippeeeeeee! long awaited day has arrived :)

Washington Post panned season three. Said Mary and Matthews bedroom patter was more boring than their pajamas. I still can’t wait. I could watch online but I like waiting and watching once a week.

swimcatsmom, you might enjoy this book:

It not only gives a good account of how Highclere Castle was used as a hospital in WWI, but tell much about the 5th Earl’s discovery of King Tut’s tomb.
