LOL, mom60, I was about to write to garland to take a peek at your sandals in the Dressing Young thread. :)

Many women erroneously believe that flats are good for the feet. No, they could be as bad or even worse than high heels! A shoe wih a small (aka “kitten”), well positioned heel and a toebox wide enough to accommodate the foot is the best option.

I have been following this thread and I just want you ladies to know I have found a lovely MOG dress that I adore because of your influence…problem being my three sons are probably 10+ years from being married, LOL! Oh well, at 21, 19, and 17 I guess someone could surprise me earlier then that, but I’m honestly fine/prefer waiting. It’s just been so much fun reading the thread and seeing the dresses!!

BB. it is not possible for me to wear more than the slightest heel. Believe me, this is not based on belief! (I do believe that high heels are unnatural, though. It would take me a lot of evidence to see them as better–don’t see a lot of men in them–aside from Eddie Izzard of course, who always looks marvelous!)

But aside from my general dislike, I have several medical reasons which excuse me from ever torturing myself that way.

Garland- I wish you had asked last week as they were having 30% off the entire store.
025281154 try that as a coupon code at Talbots and see if it works for 30% off

I just walked in the door from Macy’s and have to leave again…but I thought of you, garland, because I saw a few short silvery cardigan/shrugs that would look wonderful with the royal blue dress you selected! Then of course you can do a silver sandal. I’ve got to run for now, but maybe I can locate a few options on-line and post them later…

I’ve been away from this thread for a while, busy and overwhelmed trying to work on visas for the Russian wedding trip. Practicing writing the cyrillic alphabet can create as much angst as choosing an MOG dress.
I love the dresses chosen and suggested. The idea of choosing shoes could put me over the edge, except that I have a couple of months to do that. I hope that a pair that I already own will work with the dress. Then I have to find some with lower heels, to wear after the ceremony, because the bride advised that I do. I am not sure whether she made this recommendation based on knowing that I mostly live in Keens and Merrills or that there will be lots of dancing all night. Sandals are probably not a first choice because I may need to wear hosiery and I hate cold, wicked white legs.

BTW, I bought an extra dress that I am unlikely to take to Russia. Sensible navy. It hangs nicely in my closet.

I read on-line, so it has to be true, that in Russia it is fashionable to wear very shear clothing, exposing skin and undergarments. Not sure I can do that. Anyhow, I am nearly the age of the babushkas.

You could accessorize with silver, that would be pretty. I do like the idea of a silver dress, though, particularly something as elegant as that one.
