Dressing Young 2025

That was amazing! Bummer rainbow also had me laughing.

That’s a very cute look. I also love your shoes!

Yep. The bummer rainbow serves me quite well…especially when traveling.

The bright colors in my wardrobe tend to lean toward function. I have some workout shirts (quarter zips and sleeveless wicking tops) that are bright colored but that’s because I want to be visible if I’m walking/hiking in certain places.

I would totally wear that - love that color combo, especially a caramel-y tan!

So did anybody watch “What Not To Wear” (with Clinton and Stacy) about 10 years ago? We did sometimes on Comcast On Demand, before there were more streaming options on Netflix etc.

It was not my husband’s favorite, but I did make him watch the first episode of their new series with me. (Admittedly the NYC venue is a plus for us, since we’ve visited a few times. ). Like the original show, they do drag things out. This time they are focusing more on the person’s desired vibe, less on what is fashionable.

Awesome! I will definitely watch!

We were religious watchers. I’ll give this a try!

I brought along some white pants on one of our trips to France. When we (H, both daughters, & I) did a Segway tour of Paris, I wore them and managed to fall/slip straight into mud when I got off of the darned thing. A lot of stain remover and a couple of washings later they were okay.

I’m going to visit my daughter in Boston next week, and was recently thinking, “How many pairs of white pants should I bring?” :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: However, this is what my husband did to my pants on the first night of vacation last year.

The dry cleaner got it all out!

@elena13 - I would love the story of how that happened!

I wear white jeans all year. I’m a +1 on loving the camel and white + brown boot combo.

I wore a pair of white bellbottoms on a trip to Vegas last year. There is nothing like wearing white pants to understand how truly filthy a place is. :open_mouth: At the end of the night, the pants were solidly dark gray from the hem up about 6 inches (probably every time one shoe brushed against the other leg). I was sure they were toast, but washed with bleach when I got home and good as new.

OMG.

BTW, WineAway is a miracle product. The woman who sold it to me at the winery was skeptical. I had low hopes, too, but it took care of the tasting sample of that dang cab I spilled on my white shorts.

Well the number of times he’s spilled red wine can’t even be counted, but it doesn’t usually happen to my clothes. This particular time we were at a fun dinner overlooking the ocean and he was either reaching or talking with animation and boom! I was more bothered by my cute tan jacket than the pants, but I was pretty shocked that the pants came clean.
@BunsenBurner - I either need to heavily invest in some of that WineAway or have him use a sippy cup.
Just to defend H a little, he is currently remodeling our primary bath and has gotten into sewing lately. I bought a few dresses from Target recently that I wouldn’t have kept if he wasn’t able to hem, fix the sleeves etc. So, I guess I’ll put up with the wine spills.

The sewing talent is impressive!

Also, I need to buy some Wine Away.

Reminding myself to drop a few of the individual packets of Wine Away into my bag for our next camping/winery visiting trip.
It works on things other than wine as well.

Oh wow on the sewing! Definitely a keeper.

With spills like that, I’d invest in a sippy cup. Cheaper in the long run. Lol

Speaking of sippy cups for wine, they do exist!

I bought a couple of pairs of these pants. Buying the regular length, they hit right at my ankles & being straight-legged, no weird fading or flares at weird spots.
The white ones have nude fabric in the pockets! The waist is high enough that it doesn’t hit the incision across my lower abdomen, so a double or triple, win.

Okay, I have to ask - is there a choice of what “nude” is for the buyer? That’s one of my pet peeves when I see some fashion item described as “nude”. Surely we have moved beyond Crayola’s “flesh” color crayon. Please ignore my rant if this is indeed taken into account in the buying options.

Yay to a great pair of pants that has zero weirdness!
