That coatigan is styled so cute! I love the scarf with it. It was sold out in my size so I don’t have it.
You are the OG of the coatigan!

I know we’ve talked a lot about Vionic shoes in this thread specifically sandals - many models are 40% off at DSW today - I just got a pair for around $45
Use code HOTSANDALS
Edited to say not just Vionics but I was surprised some models were included!
Also the Athleta semi-annual sale starts today!
@mom60 - and here I thought I was the only person who has never felt comfortable in blazers. I have bought them in the past and just never felt like “ me” in them. I do like them on others.
I can look good in some blazers, but big no on the ones with shoulder pads!
After some various Kohls orders/returns of petite dresses, I’ve kept one for fall (shown in post last week, with the pink flats) and this sleeveless one in blue print for summer. I can wear it with flat sandals or white wedge sandals. https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-7492462/petite-croft-barrow-belted-fit-and-flare-dress.jsp
All the dresses were bigger than expected. The summer one ended up being XS/petite size (worked well for my pear shape due to the flared skirt). The other styles I tried were just too billowy and long… with the deepest arm holes I’ve ever seen on a dress (even in size S/petite).
Check out a brand called Baleaf on Amazon (probably elsewhere also), and Calia at Dick’s Sporting goods (maybe elsewhere). They have 7 inch shorts. I got Calia at 50% off.
ETA the shorts I have from these brands are exercise shorts, NOT dress/casual shorts. They may have those also, but I’m not sure.
Mine, too but the models are so tall, that what is midi on them is maxi on me. I hate that. RE: online ordering.
I came across the DSW sale earlier today and ordered 4 pair of sandals all 40% off. We’ll see what works…none were vionics as the arch on the ones I’ve tried has consistently been too high for me
I stopped in at Old Navy yesterday to see what shorts they had. One pair of denim shorts, described on the tag as “baggy”, not quite my style. Everything else was 3” or 5” and raw hems. I found another pair of shorts in the mending basket — a few inches of hem to sew — which should get me through the summer.
Plenty of workout shorts for the gym and neighborhood walks, and skorts and dresses for better looks.
I’ll be having more surgery in November/December to clean things up from my reconstruction which should result in more off of my abdomen. Since my size will change (again!), I’ll look seriously next spring for summer stuff.
I’ve been seeing the baggy Bermuda lately, on trend with the younger set.
A few years ago Sports Authority had some tailored 9" shorts that I liked how they fit. Thankfully I bought several at the end of summer clearance because they discontinued that length. I now carefully consider when I wear them to make them last. At a grocery store recently a similarly aged woman asked me where I got them and said she’d been looking for longer and hadn’t been able to find them. She noted that when she was younger she loved showing off her legs but now not so much. Me too!
Stio has these in 9" and 11.5". I’m a short shorts kinda gal so don’t have any experience with these, but I can say that their other shorts are really great (sporty) shorts. Hold their shape, just the right amount of stretch, and great functional details.

It is still 80 degrees outside. All this talk about shorts made me want to buy some. So I ordered a denim skort by A+O. Gotta wear fun clothes before my legs become too crepey for them!
Shorter shorts are easier when standing than sitting. I’ll wear for exercise but prefer 6" (or longer) or sometimes skorts.
I like skorts and wear them around. I feel they’re dressier than shorts and just as cool.
7" shorts is my sweet spot for length and Talbots makes my favorite which I’ve gotten several years in a row. They also come in different lengths.
Seems like a lot of sizes are OOS but here’s the link for the 7" : Sites-talbotsus-Site
Have to come back to give a big thumps up to a pair of Reef sneakers I asked about on this thread a month or two ago.
I ran to DSW this morning to return the Vionics i bought last week (too open and loosey goosey!). I found another sub for those.
I took a quick stroll past their clearance shoes, ALL extra 40% off. I eyed ONE pair of the Reefs - in a size for me - maybe they were a return? Whatever, they were marked down to $75 and then another 40% off so like $38!
But the point is they are SOOO comfortable! I love the way they look. Can be wore with socks or sickles. Lightweight and I can have arch/balls of feet issues and they feel like a DREAM. I haven’t tried yet but I feel like I could walk a good bit with these. They are often listed as a travel shoe.
That is a style I like. I envy those of you who have such varied shopping options. I’ve never lived near a DSW and we are down to just one Macy’s and it’s got a terrible shoe department.
To be honest, I think there are better buys often to be had than DSW and I frankly don’t like going in there! I prefer to order online where even DSW has many more options - and sizes. The store itself had a plethora of size 6 and 7 but many slots were empty for anything larger.
I really just got lucky and just decided it was just as easy to return in town than package it up and drop it off via mail.
