Dressing Young 2025

I’m thinking boho is when prairie moved to the city.

I did order a tin of Garrett popcorn as a consolation prize.

I follow this woman on instagram and she recently did a blog post about what she packed for her Europe trip (that included a cruise for part of it). She had a lot of pretty “going out to dinner” dresses and skirts. It’s more helpful to go to her “Europe” instagram stories to see how she put the outfits together, but at least here’s the link to a number of the items. I ended up buying the long blue knit Amazon dress.
I also want to see the Calvin Klein billboard!

This is a dress I bought a couple of weeks ago at a local boutique.

Trying to decide which of these two shrugs is best, color-wise. Also, any thoughts on tying v leaving open??

If I did the lighter colored shrug, I would do a nude shoe instead of the red. I might do that with the red shrug as well as the reds aren’t the same. Of course, they are not side-by-side.

Some interesting thoughts but as my body has its own built in tiers and ruffles, I would hesitate to wear any body skimming knits or crocheted dresses.

It’s a two week escorted tour of New Zealand followed by a few days in Sydney. I suspect my San Diego wardrobe, such as it is, should fit what I suspect is a casual seaside vibe. I was just hoping for one new dress for evenings that would pack light.

And here is the dress I got from Avara for $35. Had hoped it would be a bit longer-waisted in the sweater part, but I don’t think it’s terrible.

Not sure how well it will launder with the pleats. Says hand wash, no wringing, and lay flat to dry. I may opt to dry clean it instead.

I like option 2 as I think tied gives a nice nipped in waist look.

Cute dress and shrug

Thanks!

Does that mean you prefer the more red shrug v the more orange one? Since the tied pic is the darker red?

I think it’s your preference if you prefer darker vs lighter color. Both shrugs go nicely with dress and I agree look very nice tied. The flowers are similar enough in color to both shrugs.

Yes, sorry I was unclear. The second photo with the darker red shrug.

I too like the tied version! Great dress.

Also love that $35 find!

Re: handwash. I’d throw it in the washer on handwashing cycle no spin. Pleats survive wash just fine. I’ve washed several pleated skirts that way.

I like the darker red tied. Looks terrific!

Looks great on you. With your slim waist and lack of muffin top, it all has a svelte and stylish look.

I have a much more boyish frame and am jealous!

The darker red for sure!

We spent a month in NZ and it is definitely a mostly casual place. I did take a dress or two, but nothing fancy.

I like the darker shrug left open, but I also love the dress without the shrug if you’re in a warmer situation. Both dresses look great!

I like the dress with nothing over it the best, but I like the first shrug better than the second. I think I like it open best, but either way looks fine.
