Dressing Young 2025

I have not done this trick yet but might try it to get a pocket for my small phone. I’d use cheap bike-style shorts (Tek brand from Kohls and a $7 pair from Ross) that I use for running and pickleball. NOT the padded bike shorts I use for cycling.

Just wondering what people think of this old dress. I bought it years ago because it was a deal and I liked the colors. I don’t not like it, but am not thrilled with it, mostly because of the stripes, I think. But it’s very comfortable and lightweight and I have sweaters that work with it. So I’m ambivalent!

I like it on you! I would wear it out for drinks and dinner.

I personally don’t do well with a blouson top, but I think that looks like a great summer dress.

I prefer my red/orange floral dress with no shrug as well, but I always take something with me for chilly restaurants.

Would a jean jacket be a better choice?

My sister likes the slip shorts from Thigh Society. Yesterday I noticed Nordstrom had some from True & Co, but not in a beige so I passed over them.

I think it’s attractive, but YOU have to feel it’s right for YOU and the times you want to wear it.

That’s what I was thinking! A cropped denim jacket in blue or white would look great IMO.

Thanks! I just ordered True shorts in blue. Same blue color as the dress I have! Thank you, Pantone for color standardization! I’ll let you know how I like them.

I love the dress! You look great. The stripes in the pattern make the skirt look like it is pleated! Love that.

I recently visited my home town in Tennessee and had lunch with some childhood friends. One of the women had on a dress from this company that sells golf apparel. It was super cute and very lightweight fabric.
Something like these, they come in different sleeve lengths and have spf protection:

I wore my new dress to the mall last night. A woman said she liked my dress, and what did I say to her? LOL. The meme is so true!

I am not sure there was one woman at my daughter’s wedding that didn’t hear about the pockets in her wedding dress! I remember her excitement when trying it on and discovering it had pockets.

The dark red one, tied. :check_mark:

Yes, a Jean jacket would be MUCH better and more youthful. That dress is adorable, and I’m just not fond of the shrug.

I haven’t bought a cocktail or wedding guest dress in 15 years. I recycle ones I love, but I’m getting tired of wearing them. They are always above the knee and I wanted a long midi, something a little Sex and the City-ish. I have a wedding on the fall, a Xmas party and a wedding in April.

I found this Adrianna Papell at Macy’s today and it even hits a tad lower on the hem than the stock model, which I like as I’m almost 6 ft in heels.

I just love the color, the neckline, it’s a crinoline lining which really makes it poof when on. It ticks all the boxes, except it just needs a belt. I put on a rhinestone belt I have and it looked terrific, except the buckle. I need something more feminine. A rhinestone belt with a bow perhaps.

Anyway, I’ll take suggestions and here it is!

That dress is so pretty!

There are lots of cute rhinestone type belts on Etsy - just need to read the description to make sure you are looking at a belt and not a sash.

That’s a great dress. I really like the color. I would consider no belt and a bright shiny necklace, but I know that’s not what you’re looking for.

You may not want to spend this much, but this belt would go well with the structure of the dress.
