Do you find that the Maeve jeans fit true to size in the waist? And how is the knit fabric? I have them in my cart, but it says my size (27") is backordered until November.
Do you have this one by any chance? I’ve had it in my shopping cart but not sure if I’ll like the big buttons. I have several pairs of high-waisted jeans that I’m thinking of wearing it with.
@CollegeNerd67 that’s the one! I have it in the ivory color and ordered it in black. I like the buttons, and it looks great with high waisted pants as well as over dresses.
Please give feedback about the sweater! I love a boxy sweater for casual wear.
Last week I did a short survey for Quince and got a $5 gift for completing. Today I got an email for $20 off any two items. I hope to get the cardigan I ordered this week and if I like it, may try another cardigan and something else
That is a cute Quince cardigan.
My issue with their clothing is that everything is in drab colors. I get those are more neutral, but, other than the Big Sur green, the choices for that cardigan are drab. Where is a nice red or deep forest green? Is there at least a navy? I should look again.
Just seems like a wide variety of shades of “sad beige.” Or, as my college roommate would say - “booger colors.”
Bummer rainbow!!
I bought this red sweater from Quince a couple of months ago and haven’t yet had the chance to wear it. The color is nice in person, but it is not nearly as soft as the other two cashmere sweaters I bought from quince in the spring. Those were the Mongolian Cashmere boatneck sweaters and they used to have a really pretty pink shade (not seeing it currently).
Several months ago someone on this thread posted a Tommy Bahama raw edge linen jacket and I’ve been eyeing it ever since, on the TB website as well as Nordstrom. Tommy Bahama recently had a 25% off sale so I went ahead and got it in black. I’m thinking it will get a lot of wear so thanks!
I do find that Maeve jeans are pretty true to size, maybe a bit big. I’ve recently gone up a size and that is due to my waist. Middle aged problems!
I like the knit fabric. It’s very soft, the inside is terry cloth like. The outside looks like jeans.
My size was back ordered also to November. Shipped a couple of days later. Back ordered stuff from Anthropologie will either ship way before it says or not at all. In my experience. I do order things that are back ordered and have gotten lucky.
I will say that the knit jeans sold out in a hot minute, when they came back in stock I immediately ordered.
@elena13 - I have 3 of the Tommy Bahama raw edge linen jackets. I have worn all of them a lot this summer.
Apparently I’m making all the purchases
Yesterday I happened to have the opportunity to shop in person. Which was a Talbots. There’s not much shopping in my area. It was either go to Talbots or watch my husband at his golf lesson. It was an easy decision!
I tried on every pair of black pants they had in the store in close to my size. I sadly had to go up in size even though the pants I have at home still fit.
Found a pair that worked and ordered another pair that I think will be good in the size up. I’ve looked for a nice pair of black slacks for a long time. I figure that it will be fine to have a couple.
I found that Talbots pants were tight in the waist but fit everywhere else which is why I had to size up. Since I look young shopping in that store, I was surprised by that. One pair even has an elastic waist but the fabric does not feel like athletic pants. I’ll call it a win.
I also tried on a pair of boots in another store that actually fit my slim low volume foot. They didn’t have the color (black lol) that I wanted so I ordered them from Nordstrom. The sales associate didn’t want to look to see if he could order them in black, that’s their choice. I’d rather buy local.
@deb922 what boots are those? I also have slim, low volume feet so I’m always interested in shoes/ boots that fit.
These

I was really surprised how comfortable they were. I usually can not wear this style of boot. They also were incredibly light. Not heavy. Nice arch placement.
I wish they had a little bit higher shaft. I’ll spray them with waterproofing spray. But all in all, it’s so hard to find a boot that I can slip on. Weren’t horribly expensive either.
I thought of you when I posted
Thanks @deb922! I have been wanting a pair of chelsea boots.
I hope I didn’t steer you wrong!
Look great!
The time has come for me to think and plan my clothes for our trip next month. Seven weeks in Europe - Austria, Germany, Alsace, Burgundy, Lyon, Provence, Paris.
The two weeks in Provence will be with our daughters/SIL/BF.
This will be our longest trip by far and it stretches from mid-September to the first week of November, so the weather will change a lot.
Shoes. I’ll take my trusty NB 880s, but I’ll need at least one other pair. Lots of walking, but probably no hiking. Decent restaurants, but no Michelin stars.
I’m going to have to go through my closet (again!) and see what’s there and what I might need to buy. I don’t want to look like an old American tourist, even though that’s what I am. Haha.
More to come…
How exciting! If your schedule allows, consider peeking in some clothing stores while in Europe.
What an amazing trip, zeebamom! When we went to Italy in 2023 (hadn’t been to Europe since 2000) I was also worried about looking like a tourist. Researched all kinds of stuff on 'how not to stand out, how to look European’ etc. At the end of the day it didn’t seem to matter. Lots of folks in casual clothes (& sneakers!). I wore my hiking shoes every single day lol. I might suggest just be comfortable and able to enjoy it all. So exciting!
Got my sweater today. Have to say, it came from out of the country and it arrived within days!
It is VERY soft and comfy and lightweight. I don’t like things fitted so sometimes size up. I got a large in this….maybe could use a medium? A little loose in the shoulder/upper arm area. I think I’d also like it better if it was a crew style than a V but it definitely has a purpose in my closet and I’ll keep it. I would call the color a light pink/blush.
Will have to see how it wears and cleans but out of the box/bag it looks and feels very nice for the price.
