Those are very on-trend!
Those shoes are adorable. I think I’ll order a pair.
@deb922 mine are also a bit longer than the model. I have Chelsea boots so I’ll try them.
I’m think I need to order some low profile sneakers.
I have a few pair of Mary Jane flats ( black, brown suede and cream) and have gotten so much wear out of them, especially right now prior to boot season.
Minority opinion here. I don’t care for the look of Mary Janes. IDK why they just are sort of “meh” to me. I’ll stick to boots, loafers and sneakers.
I’ve never been a fan, either. However, when I see influencers style them, they look really cute. But I feel would look frumpy on my 10 wide foot.
My feet are 9.5 or 10 narrow( if I can find shoes in narrow). I don’t think they would look good on me either.
Another size 40-41 person here.. I haven’t own a pair of mary janes since forever. But they do look cute on the models!
I like the one @DeeCee36 posted because it looks like a nice outer leather and maybe even some arch support. What I do not like is the sharp square toe. I’d prefer a slightly softer rounded I think!
Coming back to say that I have never heard from Poshmark support other than the auto generated canned email that they don’t respond on weekends. Thankfully the PO found my package with my $200 dress. That would be my spend limit on Poshmark. No wonder expensive stuff lingers there but sells quickly on other platforms!
I totally agree with you and can’t wait for this trend to pass. I wore Mary Jane’s when I was a little girl and don’t want to do that look at 67.
i really am glad it worked out for you. The platform owners and how they are managing it are not best as good as when it was private. It’s a shame you’ve had a bad first experience. But I have to disagree with you that things don’t sell on the platform that are expensive. This is a part-time hobby for me that does bring in some money and as a buyer I’ve purchased some wonderful things. I’ve purchased luxury bags. I’m going to completely bite the hand. But I understand that now you’re spooked
I didn’t find out much from the fb page, other than people saying it doesn’t matter if it’s priority or not. It will just take longer.
I have MaryJane-ish shoes I like. They are black leather, low wedge with elastic strap. Super comfortable - went on our recent trip to London (but for evening, not intense walking). I wear them with black socks/kneehighs or tights, so more of the look of a bootie.
I love love Mary Janes - have a bunion but skinny heel. So most shoes that fit in front refuse to stay on the back. MJs solve that one!
Geeze - I paid 17 bucks for shipping 1 sweater from Garnet Hill, and it’s not going to get here for 10 days from when I ordered it? WTH… That just seems wrong.
ETA - I called Garnet Hill and they are refunding my shipping cost - yay!
Haha, what a fun shopping story! I totally get it — sometimes you walk into a shop “just looking,” and then something speaks to you (the coat + that belt trick = perfect)
I also don’t shop for myself often, and when I do I want it to be just right. Recently I found myself loving a little accessory that makes everyday feel a bit extra. The Marshmallow Puffy Bag “White” is soft, chic, roomy enough for essentials, and just gives that “treat‑myself” vibe when I carry it.If you’re ever looking for a small splurge (that complements the big coat moment) you might check it out: Marshmallow Puffy Bag White Enjoy rocking that coat — and here’s to finding more pieces that make you feel special!
I’m conflicted on Mary Jane’s. I have to see how they look on my feet. Unfortunately the color I liked is sold out in my size.
Today’s dilemma is how to dress for multiple events when I don’t have time to go home and change. I’ve got a meeting at a marina that may or may not require a walk down a ramp onto the docks. Trunk or treat with the grandkids and a concert immediately afterwards. Adding is we are having a heatwave and it will be 80 degrees when I start the afternoon.
My husband has decided it’s okay to wear shorts to Itzak Perlman. I’ve given up on what he wears.
Do you have a skort that might work??? And a layering of a tee and then a little warmer layer for later? Cute athletic shoes?

Although in my neck of the woods, folks wear anything from shorts and ragged tees to tuxes at our music hall! ![]()
Shoes would be easy to change in the car. I’d wear a dress that can be worn with both sneakers and heels and bring a wrap of some kind because indoor concert venues can be chilly with the AC set to a “tux comfort level.” Change into dressier shoes before the concert.
I’m now realizing that Izhak Perlman is probably a reason to dress up a little! ![]()
