Dressing Young 2025

Leaving Paris tomorrow . I’ve enjoyed seeing what people are wearing. For the most part, it’s jeans (wide-leg, straight-leg, and skinny) with ankle boots/booties. Young women in short skirts and hose, wool coats and jackets, and the ever-present scarf.

Funnily enough, it’s the Asian tourists (I assume, based on where I’ve seen them) wearing more fashion-forward clothing.
A few bubble skirts, some fringe, short-shorts with hose, denim jackets.

I bought a striped cotton sweater and a new purse. H pushed me on the purse, sending me off today to find one at Longchamp. I was thinking of getting a belt, but succumbed to the bag keychain and a scarf (for either bag or neck). The purse is from their spring (ha!) collection and is a dark brown leather.

After 7 weeks, I’m happy to be going home, but it’s truly been a fantastic trip.

I got my DIL a Longchamp bag at the airport as we were leaving France. Over 20% off US price, and didn’t have to pay any tax. I did wake her up at home to make sure she really wanted it, but she loves it.

I too bought a Longchamp bag in Paris a decade ago. Best place for those purchases, apparently!

Ok I’m down to crunch time, no more time to order more.

Decided I wanted a pair of coated denim jeans to wear with nice tops. Ordered 2, one is coated denim, the other faux leather

Both the same size, I have other pants of this brand, all the same size. I like the coated denim better, better length, I like the look better. 2% spandex

They are a tiny bit tight in the waist, fit good everywhere else. The faux leather is a tiny bit loose.

Should I keep the coated denim and think they will stretch? Keep the faux leather? Keep neither? I mean I have a pair of black pants

I went through something like this with jeans I ordered fairly recently. I wound up keeping the ones in the smaller size, and I’m glad I did. Can you wear them around your house for a couple of hours and see if they fit better after that?

I wouldn’t keep pants that are loose already - they will likely become even looser as you wear them.

I like the advice to wear them around the house, with the tags in, to see if they feel better. But if not, be ruthless and send them back!

No to the ones that are loose.

You don’t need to add items to your wardrobe that are confounding from the get-go! If your wardrobe is like mine, there are more than enough items that take a lot of effort to style.

I agree don’t buy loose unless you plan on tucking in at the waist. I like coated better, also. I own several And they don’t stretch out. Standing up they feel different than sitting down. I’d sit for a bit and see if they cut in too much.

To me the belt is the winner look. By a long shot.

And you are beautiful with or without lipstick! :lipstick:

You can also edit your post and delete the pics, edit them and repost if you like.

Gorgeous! Agree with @abasket about the belt.

How, I tried! I hit the edit button and don’t see it.

I would like it tighter and higher but I’m on the last hole.

I got a belt hole puncher for these situations! Inexpensive and plentiful on Amazon.

I’d almost be afraid on that belt. I had a couple done at Saks before they shut down in my city. I don’t want to leave it at a shoe repair. Are those hard to use? The leather on this belt is thick.

I had a hole done at shoe repair store.

I think you look great, and love your hair.

Another belt vote!

I am ruthless. If I don’t love how something looks/fits I don’t keep it. I say send them both back.
