Amazon is amazing. The hole puncher arrived this morning, overnight delivery. Thanks for telling me to practice. I did and o was off a bit on my practice belt. Figured out what I did wrong. Measured 3 times on my GG belt and pushed very slowly. Perfect location, although the hole is not as professional looking as the real ones. But no one will notice.

amazing how much more comfortable and better looking with just an inch tighter.

So glad it worked for you! Yay. The outfit is gorgeous!

Of course you inspired me to consider it, so I went and looked at it.Both the dropped waist and the thin underlying fabric were mentioned in reviews I read

The thin fabric makes it impossible to tuck in anything and not show. I’d one is willing to wear their sweater out, like I did then it’s ok. After tomorrow night I’m going to see if my alteration lady can do something Simone at the waist, like pull the hook and eye tighter. I’ve done that on shorts before.

Need help. I went through my dresser and closet today. Took MUCH longer than I expected, but I was very thorough. Tried on things and tried to be discerning about what I kept.

Here is my question - I probably have four or five pairs of WHBM pants that are sort of cargo like - with zippers on the thighs, little pockets, etc. One is a pair I love (I think @conmama has them, too). They are coated black denim. Then I have a dark gray and a couple of pairs that are olive and a burgundy. Are these just completely out of style? On some of them the zippers are more noticeable than the others. I’m probably keeping the black coated ones, regardless of what you tell me - ha ha.

I think my reluctance to purge them is that buying pants is hard for me, and these all fit well. But, I don’t want to look ridiculously out-dated.

Please advise

Edit: these are all on the skinny end of the spectrum of leg widths

I’ve been asking myself (when going through clothing) “Do I say ‘Hell Yeah!’ when I put this piece of clothing on?”

If I do, then it stays. If I don’t say that and try to convince myself that I might wear it on some nebulous occasion with just the right accessories/weather/phase of the moon, then I thank the clothing item and put it in the donate pile.

I think my question would be “how many places do you go where the people you’re with would know the pants you’re wearing are not THE most current style?” I might keep them for the times it really doesn’t matter.

I am pretty boring in my day to day life, and don’t worry too much. BUT, there are times I want to get it “right.”

I refuse to be hostage to the trends. If I have something that I love and fits well, I’m keeping it and wearing it. You can always pair them with a more “in style” top!

If you like them and look good in them, I’d say keep (or at least keep for a while… maybe in a “pergatory” box of maybe give-away… see if you dig them back out). Or think about whether they are comfortable enough to be worn while home.

I’ll share this link in case of interest. But personally, even though I usually adore practical shoes, I did not love any of these shoes (and some were quite pricey!). There were some penny loafers that seemed Ok, but the currently stylish MaryJanes did not capture my interest as much as expected.

If you have 4, consider getting rid of one or two? Im not a big pants person but do love a good olive color (or green khaki) as an alternative to a jean.

Like some, some not so much. I can’t really wear true flats (and I don’t do a heavy or chunky loafer either) but I do like those Everlane glove flats. I like the simple yet tailored and clean look of them.

That outfit with the white fringe skirt looks amazing @conmama! Love the monochrome look from boots to top - makes it so elegant and cohesive!

The color palette of these shoes is kind of depressing! Bummer rainbow for sure! Not a fan of any of those shoes. I can’t wear many flats styles, but my feet like Ara flats. I think it was @oldfort who recommended them.

Has anyone bought any travel clothes by Anatomie? How is the quality? Thinking of buying to try from Nordstrom. Easy 90-day return (for brands that Nordstrom doesn’t carry in the store).

Thank you! I can’t wait to wear it tonight.

I do have those black coated zipper jeans and I’m not getting rid of them unless I can’t fit in them. Skinny jeans are great to tuck in boots. I’m not getting rid of my skinnies. I’ll wear those with black leather knee high boots! Yep, all Leather is a good look. The only jeans I folded and put away are my distressed ones.

Here is a photo of a friend of mine wearing her coated jeans with low heel boots, black Leather jacket and bright scarf. I love the look.

several of these flats have mary jane straps - which we have discussed on this thread

Your friend looks adorable in the black leather and bright scarf! I pulled out a black leather jacket I got in Italy for a winery visit recently- didn’t have the cool pants to go with it tho, so just did jeans. Low heeled boots would have been really a cute look.
