This my very old, nay, vintage raincoat - likely from the early 1980’s. It has fit me over a wide variety of sizes, way beyond size 10! (Often belted it in the back.) Recent weather notwithstanding, there’s seldom a need for rain gear in San Diego, So my goal is a jacket that can be easily packed away, comfortable on a bus, and hopefully not needed beyond a light rain.
I like option 1
I think you can order either and they would be great and a nice upgrade for what you have in your closet.
I think waterproofing wears off after a while. I’ve been caught in a downpour before on vacation and can confirm that a good raincoat is worth its weight in gold
On length for raincoats - I personally like something that is to the bottom of my bottom! Not long, but something that will cover that part when I’m standing up. Makes me feel psychologically drier or something. Plus, if I then go inside a restaurant to dine, I’m not sitting on a soggy bottom.
I have to admit that colored outerwear says “grandma” to me. Probably because my own grandmother wore tons of pastel colors.
Because these jackets say they are cycling rain jackets, I’m guessing they are a little longer and have a little longer sleeves than a non cycling rain jackets. However, it could be they just add the name in the title and they’re really just standard rain jackets. When I buy a cycling rain jacket I look for it to cover my behind when I stretched out riding and to not ride up on my wrists.
I recommend layers for NZ. It can be chilly/cold in some places.
Deleted… I just ordered full price
Links aren’t showing up for me.
99% of my time I’m in casual wear.
I’m looking for a quarter zip sweatshirt. Any favorites. I don’t want cropped. Something to wear with jeans or leggings.
Vineyard Vines has some really nice quality quarter zips. My daughter has one that is close to 10 years old and is holding up beautifully. Got in on store clearance after the new year.
I am “team Lulu” when it comes to casual wear.
Unfortunately, their current sweats are almost all cropped. Or half zip, not quarter.
Check Athleta - there is a BF sale going on! This looks good:
Athleta has a 30% off sale right now, and I’ve been happy with my shirts from them. I was going to warn you to make sure you’re not getting shorter than you’d like, but sounds like you’re familiar with the cropped trend. I ordered a Vuori sweatshirt at one point, because I loved the feel of the material on someone else, but I felt like it was just too short (even though it wasn’t cropped). I love Lulu Lemon leggings, but their tops are often cropped or too fitted for me.
Great minds think alike! High five
! I could have written your post. ![]()
I’m a +1 to Athleta - but might also suggest checking out LLBean just because they don’t tend to do so many “trends” and I bet will be more of a regular length.
I have been looking for a dress to wear to the upcoming corporate holiday party. Something that doesn’t need a wrap and can be repurposed for other events. Came across this new item from Adriana Papel.. and it is a winner!

That looks like a great black dress that could be worn to lots of events!
Such a classic black dress! Should be very versatile.
Beautiful and classic LBD!
Gorgeous, elegant black dress! Love that it has sleeves. I’m always cold so that is a huge plus - and nicely fitted, too!
Yes—sleeves and fitted make it even better and more classic.
