Duke ED 2024

@neonpinklime I think it might just be a verification statement, which is through FAFSA, not the university itself. Im not sure it had anything to do with admissions.

It wasn’t through fafsa, karsh financial aid office requested them through the college board’s IDOC service. They could request the documents of every applicant but that seems like a lot of extra work when most won’t be admitted.

@neonpinklime My son got the same request in his portal. I had to upload my W-2s and 1040 filing via IDOC.
I think that they do that for all applicant so that they can provide the Fin Aid package at or soon after admittance.

The Duke portal says we will let you know decisions by Dec 15th at the LATEST.
So maybe that Friday before. Although that is Friday the 13 so possible Thursday evening Dec 12th. Do your portals show SAT Subject test scores if you self reported or only SAT self report composite?

@neonpinklime
Yes that is what the Duke portal says here as well being “evaluated”.

Is there anyone who didn’t receive the extra financial Information request? Why wouldn’t they just ask for the additional information on the application if they ended up asking everyone?

I had my interview on Monday

I did not receive the extra financial request. However, I feel as though even if I did get in, I wouldn’t get any money or that much money. This could just be me being pessimistic, but I don’t know

My D20 did not get a request for additional financial information as we are full pay and not requesting financial aid. Don’t know if that helps your question?

HELP! I just saw that FAFSA and CSS profile were due November 15th for Duke ED applicants, but my family hasn’t submitted them. I don’t think we would be getting any aid through the FAFSA but the duke net price calculator spit out a number less than sticker price-- would I have to have completed the FAFSA by the deadline in order to be offered aid the aid from duke that the duke net price calculator showed?

@nba13254 I think you had to have FAFSA and CSS in by November 15 in order to receive a financial aid offer at the time of acceptance on or around December 15. Call Duke just to be sure, but I think you can fill those forms out and submit them by the regular decision FAFSA deadline of February 1 and get aid–you just won’t know what the aid will be on ED decision date December 15.

Does anyone know if Duke ED application numbers were up again?

@2022soon I submitted my SAT scores and 2 subject test scores (both self report and sent through college board) but the portal only shows my super scored SAT score.

Has anyone else who submitted subject test scores seen those scores on the portal?

yes, that’s because the portal only shows the required testing. If u self-reported or sent your subject tests they have them

My S’s portal was updated with the same message, all checklist items were remove.
I am wondering if it’s a good sign or bad? Don’t they need the mid-term or final grade later? If not opening, how it’s updated?

“Your application for admission to Duke University is currently being evaluated.”

Has anyone else got this too?

I got it. It means that duke has received all required materials from the applicant.

Does anyone know anything about when decisions will be released? I know the website says December 15th, but that’s a Sunday. Is it possible they come out on the Thursday (12th) or Friday (13th) before?

Yes. Last year the ED results came out on December 13.

@ihaveacutedog @neonpinklime
I think Duke will release Thursday December 12th. I just do not see them giving bad news on the unlucky day of Friday the 13th. *total speculation zero inside knowledge on this.
—If any juniors are following this and tour Duke please ask if their ED number was up or remained the same then let us know. Anxious to find out!
I wish the colleges would release that info as soon as they know.

@2022soon the last three years, Duke released the ED stats including number of applications on the afternoon (via articles in Duke Today and Duke Chronicle) of the ED decision (7pm). I’m curious to know those numbers especially in light of U Penn’s dip in applications.
