It’s more to do with the Carolina Initiative. Duke has been TO since 2020.
ohhh thanks for clarifying!
looking at a QB match spreadsheet it seems lots of big schools saw an increase in matches
Can you link to that?
Its not letting me send a link, but if you google “Questbridge Spreadsheet” it should be the first reddit link
Does that 800+ ED accepted include the QuestBridge candidates?
Yes. It’s roughly 200 QB + recruited athletes so the effective ED acceptance rate is always lower than the one publicized.
113 is QB and 87 are athletes?
I don’t know they had less QB kids past years so the 200 rough estimate could be higher. I’m not an admissions officer I don’t know the details.
Surely more than 87 athletes in dukes ED.
ED percentages in general should be taken with a grain of salt.
My guess is athletes is closer to 200-225
Not all athletes apply ED. it’s around 50% ED and 50% RD according to past threads. In any case there’s no way athletes + qb make up 40% of ED class they still have to accept other students. Duke is one of the schools thats explicitly states ED gives an advantage in the admissions process.
Agree, that is what they told us at an Admissions Forum this summer - half of recruited athletes are in the ED group. They said that last year, the ED admission rate was 10% when excluding QB and athletes.
There you go - direct from Duke.
When will Duke release ED 1 Notification? Website says mid-December- anyone know the specific date?
They haven’t announced it yet. Likely sometime between 12/12-12/17
I think usually send an email a week before
Friends son with 36 ACT/4.0/4.68 was deferred, so I’m going with yes,
It does. ED is around 10% and RD around 6%.
They have not released any results yet except for QuestBridge acceptances.
