ELKS 2020 (Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship)

@Rachel2905 most scholarships go directly to the school because they are contingent on you actually attending a school.

Hey, y’all I just found this (accidentally LMAO). I was super surprised to find out I won the state scholarship and I’m moving on as National Semifinalist to be considered for the top 20. The state scholarship was 4k and I got it on March 2 too. Good luck to anyone out there!!!

BTW I’m from California which is the only reason I was sure I wasn’t going to get it (California is crazy competitive)

Annoyingly, I haven’t received any email either way. I know I didn’t move on because there’s nothing on my portal, but it’s frustrating that no one’s told me anything.

They’re supposedly posting the 20 national finalists today. Can anyone see a national finalist form on their application portal?

But isn’t there only an interview after this stage? So there won’t be further application materials?

I imagine there wouldn’t be. Has anyone gotten an email?

They said they will email 20 people this week about who is going to invited for the leadership weekend. All the national semifinalists will hear from them in early April

did you speak to someone at Elks today?

I was selected as a 2020 National Elks MVS! The email came this morning.

I guess notifications to winners came out yesterday, then?

Congrats all!! My daughter didn’t move past state, but did receive $1,000 one time scholarship from Virginia Elks.

Anyone else not hear back?

My daughter received a “Congratulations” email this afternoon, but I think it’s just for being one of the 500 finalists. From the webiste, "The 2020 Top 20 will be posted on Monday, April 6, 2020. For now, see a list of last year’s winners in the table below. Use the drop-down menus to view all list of recipients by year and state. "

I just received an email about not moving forward. It just said congrats for being a national semifinalist

The website https://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/mvswinners.cfm lists this year’s winners by state. The top 20 will have an annual award of $5,000 next to their names.

Does anyone know if they money will be sent directly to our college or to us?

To college. @Raddersaurus
